New York Hillbilly
Very few things in my life have been successfully able to interfere with my deer season. It has been the source of family misunderstandings, and even battles at times, with my firm position, "don't plan to have it in deer season, if you expect to see me there!". My daughter even planned and had her wedding the week before bow season with that in mind. This year however, deer season took a back seat to my daughter and SIL's plan to bring into the world their first child, and our first grandchild. Overnight, after many long hours of sitting, pacing, and worrying in a hospital here in Rochester, I (we) officially welcomed my (our) handsome and healthy, Grandson. My new future hunting partner! The first time I heard his cry from behind the closed door to their room, I totally lost it, overcome with relief, joy, and pride, in the new life my daughter and her husband brought into the world. I may not have spent as much time in the woods as I wanted this year, but there is now the incentive to do so far into the future for me. I look forward to opening his eyes to the hunting world, and all the wonders, beautify, and life lessons it offers. A world that has been so much a part of my life. A lifetime NY hunting license will be in his Christmas stocking at the very first opportunity. Merry Christmas indeed! grampy
I can not even put into words how cool it is to spend time in the hunting woods or on the water fishing with my grandsons. Ages 12 and 14. Becoming "grampy" has been the highlight of my life! Besides my beautiful wife of course! Congratulations NYH !

Steuben Jerry
Congratulations HB! We have three grandchildren now and I took my 9 year old grandson with me for his first time out deer hunting with me this year. We got a doe and I gained a new hunting partner - he's hooked! If I knew grandkids were so much fun, we would have had them first!
jpaolini
Awesome! A big part of why I got into Hunting/Fishing is to have something to do with my son as he gets older (he's 3 now).
bugsNbows
Most excellent HB. I only have two grandkids (a boy 4 and girl 7). They bring the utmost joy to my wife and me. You WILL love this treasure... I'm sure.
Rattler
Congratulations and welcome to the club. My only grandchild is a beautiful little girl. Not sure she will choose to enjoy the outdoors like I do. My 2 daughters are not fans and my son only likes to shoot at the range. So, I'll have to wait and see. Either way, this little one is my pride and joy.
