I like Arby's for fast food! I'll have to give the fish a try, next time!

Yeah, Grampy, a friend turned me onto those sandwiches a couple of years ago..They have run the 2 for $5 special during Lent the last few years.

I'm not a big fast food fan ( although I do admit I have a weakness for KFC original Recipe)  but IMHO the Arby's fish is very good.

I looked up the species of fish that used awhile back..It is either pacific cod or Pollock, I can't remember which...

Over the last few years I've dropped 100lbs. and kept it off! So my fast food visits are very seldom now. But every now and again, the Mrs. and I  will stop at KFC or Arby's in Cobleskill for a 'treat'. Been years since I've been in a Micky D's or BK though. Wendy's has a pretty good fish sandwich too. All this fast food talk has me drooling like a dog! "grin".....

My favorite is Arby's crispy fish...Currently they are on special, 2 for $5....

Cheap supper for me and The Mermaid, and no dishes to wash, either...

Although a very good friend of mine is an Arby's manager, since I sold my business I'm rarely in his 'hood and hungry at the same time. I remember as a small (height, NOT weight) child it was quite a treat to hit the Arby's at Main & Transit in Williamsville for a heck of a good roast beast.  Never had one of their feesh sammies and don't need to start at this point.  :)

IF I do have a craving and they are on sale, I'll grab a couple McDonald's feesh sammies and enjoy the heck out of them.....

The Arby's are much better than the Mc Duck's....

Nasty. Makes me think of that phrase from a rap song, "watchya order, fish fillet?"

Hehehehe...I hear ya, Biz....

It's just that some of us can't afford to eat at Monsieur  Laveau's Caviar and Truffle Palace every night,  just as we can't afford to buy Weatherby factory loads if we shoot very much..

Wow Grampy, Congrats!  I need to be more like you.  That's serious weight loss.

When the time came that I needed the Mrs. to help me get my hunting boots off. That's when I decided, enough! No fad diet or anything like that. Just putting less food in my mouth and eating more healthy, low cal beer, and cutting the 'habit munching'. Also being diabetic, I walk the tightrope every day. Seven years ago I was just over 300lbs.  Today, at 6' 1" I weigh in at 194lbs. I still enjoy most all food, and even sweets. Just "smaller" amounts and within reason. But I'm thinking a 'fish sammy' is in my future for this weekend!

Post dinner habit munching is my downfall for sure.  I am staring the Grampy " just stop eating so much" diet.  Seems like a better plan than most of my crazy unsustainable diets.

I used to like Arby's back in the day. They used to have a 5 for $5!! Roast beef and chedder with some hrsey sauce bam!  I almost never eat fast food now. I worked at McDs as a teen and not sure much those places cook would be called healthy or some of it even food lol.

I lost 50 pounds over the winter and want to keep it off at least most of it. At 6'2" 190ish right now. I'll take that fish fresh caught and grilled please!! Do a little research on where and how some of this "fish" comes from and you may puke a little in your mouth. I have no idea why the USA would ever import food from China and some other very sketchy places............shrimp is another one....

moog, you have already made a 'GIANT' leap, by just deciding to do it! And it really is as simple as just eating less! It's ok to leave a little on the plate. And a handful of baby carrots or celery sticks for a snack instead of ice cream, cookies or chips. But continue to eat what you enjoy, just less of it. You will notice the weight coming off slowly and over time. The best way to lose it my Dr. says, as it tends to stay off. It's really just about changing deep seated habits, than about torturing yourself. If I can help you in any way just PM me my friend. Good luck and you got this my friend! Sorry for derailing the thread.......

Oh yeah. A big thumbs up for Ted's fish Fry! A little pricey but worth it for sure. The one on Western Ave. is closest to me, and my favorite! The clam roll is pretty tasty too!

i broke down the other day and got scallops.  definitely a different level of fast food. haha
