Had some strong gusts,  late this afternoon here in the Albany county hills. But so far all is well. Hopefully those hard working power guy's get the lights on soon for ya. And I  hope the little one feels better soon too.

Ballz. I was half way thru posting on work computer we had power. And oops. It's gone.
Try vinegar socks on little one. Soak socks in vinegar , wring out and put them on. No idea why but it works. Hope this new golf dome stays up !!

Power here in Snyder........was on Tonawanda Creek (Niagara County side) and Transit probably 20 minutes after a tractor trailer flipped.  I snapped a pic, I'll load it in a bit.

I saw a ton of damage around the area on the way home.  Lots of big trees down and plenty of roof damage.  They just said there was a 81 mph gust in Batavia today.  That my friends is humming!

Got power here in ransomville. No cable tho. That was some crazy wind. Bet u the insurance claims will be crazy the next couple wks!

This end of Webster has power . We ran all afternoon at work, trees and wires down everywhere . Had a primary line down on a chainlink fence, energizing it for a couple hundred yards. Causing brush and tree fires all along its length , its arching and humming .

Any fences running off it up,into,yards  were also,charged . Lady comes out of her house and stands 3 feet from energized fence to say it's burning all along it ...... We yell and wave her away, she smiles and waves back , once we explain touching the fence could kill her she asks if her kids could play in back yard ok !  See what happens when woman stay home for the day ?

This is the first time in 5 years owning our house that we lost power. I guess I'm gonna look into one of those manual switch boxes that has the generator hook up .

I've got the generator up, I run a double ended ext chord into an outlet and run half the house. Main turned off of course

That of course is a code violation and nobody from the power co. to,the FD is happy to,run into,that.  Better to get a transfer switch, or run cords directly to,a few lights and appliances . 

No,offense but if you go to all the trouble of buying a generator , why not set it up correctly .

I was in the Webster Wegmans earlier just after they lost power. They were going crazy trying to get all the refrigerated stuff moved or covered. Might not want any fresh fish from there the next day or two!

How does wegmans not have a generator back up system.  Even my office does.  That's a lot of potential loss.
