Needed a family vacation

Pretty bleak 2018 beginning so a few months ago wife, daughter and I booked a trip to Disney. We’ve taken her at age 4-6-8-11 and now 16. Our last big family vacation  as next year we’ll be touring colleges. 

Free dining   plan is spectacular! They tend to throw at you as slower season. Lots of character meals . Went to Not so spooky Halloween where they have special fireworks, parade. Characters and patrons dress up. Space mountain was completely dark , real dressed up people added to Pirates of the Caribbean. Very short ride  lines as everyone waiting in candy lines   Ended up in Epcot 2x Magic Kingdom 3x Animal Kingdom 2x and Hollywood studios once. Average temps were 90-94 with high humidity. Usual Florida 15 minute shower / thunderstorm. Walked 11-14 miles a day. Went to Guy Fieris Chicken Shack that has 23 dipping sauces , missed him by a day. Hit the rides hard. New Avatar Flight of passage is amazing.  Feels like you’re flying atop a banshee.  Saw a flock of Osceola turkeys walking across the fairway at Magnolia golf course from the monorail. At the water park Blizzard beach we saw a 4’+ black snake of sorts slithering through the bushes as we waited in line. Met a slough of Buffalo people. First family lives right near Sodfathers archery academy. Dole whip with rum , yes please.  50’s prime for daughter and I to share peanut butter and jelly milkshake as we’ve done every trip.  Decided every rental car there is a Toyota Corolla in silver or white. Making our silver one fun to find in huge parking lots. Bought some new snow camo in Storm trooper pattern. Always drive to Cocoa beach to play in the ocean before flying home. Got stung by a jellyfish wading the shoreline. Had a Magical time.

When we had that meal plan I was eating seven parfaits a day to make sure we used it up lol

My wife and the daughter who,lives in Buffalo are going to Cocoa Beach end of Sept, beginning of October , her friend owns two,condos one on East and one on a West coast . 

Sadly I have to stay home and take care of the dog .........

 Yes, great time indeed. Tell them to watch those jellyfish  I learned from a local family at the beach the big clear ones are ok, it's the ones with colors that get you. We saw a bunch of blue hued ones and think I got nabbed by one of those,  Picked up our golden retriever this morning  $352 for doggy daycare?!  Could have bought a new dog !  Although did bring her a Mickey yellow shoe chewtoy and a Mickey collar   Finally stopped at Ron John surf shop too.

Tacks, I wasn't going to post all the food I ate as everyone would gain weight just looking at my gluttony  4-5 plates of food with dessert at meal was all too frequent

lol, thats' what everyone keeps saying   I did not. Local says vinegar is the way to go. But alas no vinegar in our suitcase

Looks like a great, relaxing family vacation, TF! 

Calories consumed on vacation don't count though.   At least that's what I keep telling myself.   With all the walking around the park you definitely burned them all off anyway.   Smart move to stay properly fueled and hydrated in that hot FL sun!

Looks like you had a great trip..........I just got back from WildWood NJ.The wife and I first 2 days then my girls also came down.........Family get aways are Awesome.............

Ya mine doesn’t do,well at those places . So we either go for a few days when the nurse daughter can stay here, or another retired friend ( arson investigator) will stay here for $25 a day and he walks our dog a lot .

Dole Whip is awesome, especially with the rum added. That was one of the best parts of our Disney trip last year.

Awesome! Don't count out another family vacation! I'm 24 and meet my parents for a vacation every summer but I have been called a momma's boy lol.

Walking 10-12 miles a day in hot temps + character buffets = I gained 8 pounds in a week. WTH !! Oops Do I drag out the mountain bike to work it off or consider it insulation for cold temp deer hunting ?!
