Dang it feels nice out. Bronchitis or the likes had me coughing all night so live from the couch  Surprise coughs out of nowhere and I’m not going to be very stealthy.   Maybe take mama to breakfast. Good luck out there

Yes sir lot of Bronchitis and upper respiratory infections going on.I think the change in weather and leaf drop/pollen/dust from what was on the leaves from the summer is the main cause.Get some rest and feel better soon.

Well I know why we are not seeing deer! On the way in to school today I saidto my daughter  " ok let's see how many deer we see. You have to look hard". My daughter says" Dad we won't see any deer today it is to cold outside. They are all inside staying warm". So there you have it. Deep thoughts from a 4 1/2  year old!!  Lol

Something weird is afoot. I have noticed a major uptick going on 3 or 4 years now in terms of lung infections. I am shaking something off myself now and I had a very bad dose 2 years ago. I rarely got sick before this and now I get something in the lungs every year. When I was teaching the students were often down with respiratory issues.

Had a lone fawn pass by at 8:45. Other than that, it's been DAF...

Might tap out and go into work for 4hrs, to save 1/2 vacation day.

My parents just bought us a very expensive air filter but it is working...my fam of four has two incubators (almost 4&7yrs old) and spring and fall we are sick months straight.

No doubt, I could tell off the shot but him trotting up the hill 50 yards and watching the area for an hour after proved it lol. He fed his way away.

that sucks. I've never experienced it, and it always seems to happen so fast that I sometimes question it. I know science has proved it does indeed happen, but please don't take this the wrong way, I think your shot was high anyhow if it was a complete miss. Maybe a blessing that you didn't hit the non-vital area below the spine?

A lot of people also spend more time indoors or in a car. We're packed tighter in offices and schools and not everybody does a good job with their hygiene and changing filters/cleaning in their homes. As a result, even the healthy and outdoorsy types get exposed more now than ever before.

Well yea I'd believe someone online over myself who released the arrow any day lol. No offense taken I don't care who believes it or not.

So lower vitals to above spine is what 6 to 10 inches? so lets say he ducked 6 inches at the sound of your release? Assuming you're not shooting a recurve... 300 fps at 35 yards. Your arrow traveled 105', meaning his reflexes allowed him to drop 6 or so inches in 0.3 seconds. I've missed a few deer in my day too. It happens.

So my bow season might be over, I only have a dmp left I can use any way so it’s not the end of the world. I got rear ended pretty hard While driving in the Bronx Friday afternoon. Small dent in my steel bumper and I felt fine so I just waived the guy on. Woke up Saturday morning and my muscle in the middle of the right side of my back is tight and really sore. It was annoying but Tolerable. Fast forward to Sunday mid morning. I go to pull my sons stroller out of my wife’s trunk and can’t. It hurt so bad I almost fell over. No way I can draw a bow. Dr gave me anti-inflammatories muscle relaxers and exercises to do. This sucks. I’ll wait till mid next week and see how I feel.

Take it easy. Think long-term and follow doctors orders as best as possible.

I blew my back out lacing my boots at the truck to go into the woods Nov 2, 2008. Surgery a month later, which helped. But, I've never been the same. Don't mess around with back issues.

5:05 seconds in tells you all need to know

I think around 12:00 is a better example of real worldish conditions and a result in a high chops/spine hit. But we've all said our peace. lets get back on track or start a new thread.

Hello everyone I’m currently looking at a house in deposit ny I’ve been deer hunting for many year mainly in Columbia and Greene county never been to Broome county. Before anything I was just curious how is the hunting there ? I know there aren’t any antlered restrictions in Broome but are there monsters out there or is it mainly just small spike? If anyone from that county or knows about deposit and broome county would get back to me i would appreciate it. Hope everyone hunting today catch a big one thanks.

The procedure below to carry the bow is detailed below:
You have to use a cotton towel or something similar. You have to wrap it around the bowstring. Doing so ensures that it will not cause an injury with the bowstring coming in contact with your body. It will not be that sharp either. Once you cover the bowstring with the towel, you have to wear it like a sling. So that it will not fall away from your body. The best way to cover the bowstring is to use a large enough towel. You can wrap it around twice as well. When making a sling out of the cotton towel, you have to ensure that you tighten it to get a snug fit. In that case, it will not slip away. Consequently, it will remain in place. When using this technique to carry a bow on your back, it is essential to practice before going in the wilderness. Only when you can move briskly and without noise using the scanning mechanism should you go ahead with it. To remove the bow, you have to hold it at the bottom. After that, you have to slip it over your head as well as arm. Doing so ensures that you can remove it quickly. When trying to focus on a prey, you need to remove the bow quickly. The technique for removal that we have highlighted above can certainly help you do so.

Just want to relay an experience I had this weekend regarding hunting regulations and other hunters.
I've had several  hunter's tell me last weekend(10/12/2020) that muzzleloader was open, it is not. I also had two other hunters last weekend confront me as to why my son was carrying around a rifle and hunting deer. I calmly explained the youth weekend and the rules around it. After that everything was cool and we continued our hunt.
I know at the end of the day we're all trying to participate in a sport we love and maybe harvest some game. My thought is to just make sure you're up on your local hunting regulations. Not just so you are within the rules, but also so you can assert your right to be where you are, hunting the way you're hunting.
I know when I have been operating outside of the regulations I have appreciated a person respectfully correcting my ignorance and I try to pay it forward by being informed and respectfully educating when required.
Thanks for listening, off my SB...

      Hello,
I am in the process of purchasing my first rifle to go hunting deer for the first time.  However, I have received contradicting information regarding the types of rifles that are legal.  Based on what I have read, it appears that I am able to use a bolt-action rifle with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine which holds 10 rounds.  However, I have been told that this is not the case. I can't seem to find where this is stated.  Can any one here provide me with some insight into this? I'd really appreciate it.
      Thanks in Advanced,
      Alfredo
