Did you come across any rut sign from this season? 

Yeah last year was my first year hunting it so it’s more about looking for other spots besides the 2 I had.

Now the fun part with putting in 3 or so more stands haha.

Thought I would share this...My son is down in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay smacking down ducks yesterday and today.   They are getting Blue bills, buffies,  oldsqwa,scoters

They are old squaws sea duck I guess

he said he will have some of these mounted so yes neat birds and cool memories

I’m not sure what kind of call they use for them but I’m sure it’s PC as the OS or LT don’t seem to care as they are DOA

He told me it was a 2 day hunt $175 per day per man for a 4 person hunt.  He said it was another long day but well worth it. They are driving home now.

Quiet night so far.  Heard a couple packs far off.  I howled a few times about an hour ago, no answers.  There were deer about 200 yards from the bait when I got here, they trotted off not real alarmed.  Comfy in my down gear in my flying outhouse!  Probably hang out til midnight.

Going to give it one last shot, I can squeeze 1 more deer in the freezer. Missed a shot at a buck on Tuesday, still had antlers.

Out squirrel hunting with “Old Brian” this morning...he was generous enough to let me try his smooth bore.  Black powder, tow wadding, and swan shot...doesn’t get much better than that!
