My son duck hunted Cayuga Lake this morning near Aurora.  Banded black duck frosting on top.

The duck hunters were the only shots I heard this morning which really surprised me. Usually this Saturday is still pretty active and honestly the weather wasn’t that bad.

Congrats to your son on some beautiful birds.

It can be a lot of fun. Usually you hunt with friends in a blind and the action can be fast and furious or slow.  But either way you don’t have to worry about scent concealment or whispering on stand. The finger lakes and Lake Ontario can be pretty good in the 2nd season if the weather gets cold and nasty.  That tends to drive the migration.

Same here was expecting more shooting and activity but just didn’t materialize.  Usually the 2nd Saturday is a pretty active day Heard 2 distant shots and no duckers.  
Thanks Probably should have went ducking w my son

Never knew one person to duck hunt unfortunately.Years past I’ve had permission to hunt some beaver ponds but never took up the offer .

Pulled the plug. Put up 3 tails on way out. Heard a few shots. Off to the Seneca niagara casino to enjoy presidential suite given by friend who gambles a lot and comped. Gonna sit in the jacuzzi, drink wine , play with the remotes for blinds , tv from jacuzzi and go to Cole Swindell concert with amazing seats later. I don’t even pull slots lol. Back at it for evening watch tomorrow. Good luck out there everyone
