Obama is a piece of shit. He is the worst president this country has ever had to date and inncurred more debt in one term than all 43 combined before him.2 points

Better not!!! Thats when I fill most my tags. Couple thousand commies running around the woods scaring my deer off would seriously piss me off!!!!2 points

If you haven't already, practice with your climber. They take a little getting used to, get to know it so set up at the base of the tree is quiet as possible and not rushed. And - the starting angle; nothing worse then getting to the height you want and being at a down angle. Don't drop your release1 point

I understand having bad neighbors. Five of us own 250 acres in Eastern Delaware county next door to a notorious family of poachers. They would use the youth season in a heart beat to cover their poaching. But they also use small game hunting, target pratice, turkey hunting and walking in the woods to cover their poaching so nothing new there. Let's let the plan play out then critique it. I will be taking out a friends son hunting that weeekend in Orange County. His dad has to work weekends and is only off during the week.1 point

people from the city? I guarantee you people who live outside the "city", as in "upstater's", are responsible for more illegally taken deer every year than any other group of people that you judge by the area they reside in....and you can bet the mortgage payment on that.1 point

Well you proved me wrong lol. I figured youd cop out and say safety, but you were honest about it. Gotta respect that.1 point

Me too! And the really nice part is even the 80 degree weather is gone for another six months!1 point

Wow...that cornfield is close to your well. I'd be worried, too. What did you learn regarding the relative danger from liquid manure compared to raw manure. Doe the "pre-digesting" of the manure in the shit pits do anything to remove harmful bacteria? The fish kill could have come from oxygen leeching...not bacteria, right? Dang....keep an eye on your water.....Good luck!1 point

It's posted in the 'political' section because there is no official 'nonsensical conspiracy theory' section.1 point

Corn cutting is way ahead this year from what I have seen . I have talked to a few farmers that have had very crappy ear production so they are chopping alot and not picking much. Hold on to you hats to see what corn, grain and beef prices do. Oh and ecoli...I think you are fine as long as you don't put on a stalk with your tounge dragging...lol. I wouldn't drag a deer through it.1 point

Doc.. even broadside, head sideways it is not difficult to count 5 points on a deers head in any configuration... thats is all you need to count to is 5... again.. the idea is to protect yearling bucks... so that should be the objective for the hunter.. the DEC like I said has done nothing to make anyone do anything... they simple altered a regulation for the protection of yearling bucks and it is the resposibility of every hunter to adhere to that law if that is the law... period... a hunters lack of counting ability or resposibility is not an excuse for not adhering to the law.... There may be deer rotting in the woods.. but that is not on the DEC that is on irresponsible hunters not willing to be clear of their target before shooting.1 point

Hello Boys... I've worn progressive lenses for years . They work great if you just point your nose at everything you look at. After that, lift or lower your head to find the 'sweet spot'. Good luck getting use to them, after awhile you'll be lost without 'em.1 point

Honestly, the fact that anyone can actually believe such outrageous, unsubstantiated accusations just makes me sad for our country. That article goes so far beyond the realm of possibility, I almost took it for humor at first glance. I mean, really, the DHS, the Black Panthers, communists, radical "blacks", radical Islamists all working together, hand in hand to bring our country down! Aren't there any other groups we can lump in to this obvious fear mongering campaign? If I were Jewish, I'd feel left out!1 point

Hello & welcome. I'm hunting up by you but I usually stay over in 3C by Cranberry Mountain. I'm pretty sure on state land you are not allowed to leave anything over night and you can't use things like screw in steps etc... that cause degregation to the land. That being said last year I saw about a dozen stands on state game land chain to trees. Remember opening day bow is also opening day for small game and you will be competing with that. The first day of Archery isn't as competitive as shotgun season in that aspect but I wait a few days until the bird hunters relax a little. Do you pheasant hunt?1 point

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this SteveB. If only the first shot counts, then why am I shooting 50-60 arrows or more every time I shoot? Here is why, to make sure that when I get that one shot, It counts. I'm a firm believer in practice makes perfect. And if you don't practice, then you are just asking for trouble.1 point

i shot 2 yesterday, so i tried the cutting at the tail and pulling, worked pretty good1 point

Hell, I'd try to line 'em up and shoot 'em BOTH !!! <<GRIN>>..Before some of you tight asses get all fired up, I'm just KIDDING..!!..1 point

I am not against the youth day.. but I think it is unnecessary as well... everyday can be youth day without keeping adult hunters out of the woods... those 8000 youths don't need a special day to have someone take them hunting... take them hunting every day.. now that would be special!1 point

Sam, you are thinking of the D&DH shot simulator. I have it on my cell phone. Its a great little program. Its available for PCs, MACs or whatever you want to load it on. http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/shot-simulator1 point

I have to agree with Doe on this. Between trying to change your account info, email address and just plain not even acknowledging anything for weeks after returning and using your account again, it stinks of a flaming pile of BS to me. If we are wrong, then prove us wrong. Show some pics of your son with the spike after he shot it, and his tag on it. After all, what kind of a dad doesnt proudly take a pic of his son with his deer?1 point
