  1. For the little guy. I said I wouldn't be one of those guys that showed off pictures of the kid ,so I'm just showing off his camo.

  2. I know there is a lot of discussion on the use of crossbows. Especially those in the bow hunting camp. But that being said what about allowing those 60 and over given an exemption to use the crossbow all bow season. Seems we are making many exemptions for youth hunting but what about the elderly hunters who have filled the coffers all these years. They have paid their dues and should be afforded an exemption also. JMHO

  6. Eye witness reports he was shot unarmed with his hands in the air saying he wanted to speak to the sheriff. Car was riddled with bullets and he was shot three times after he was on the ground. I guess rancher lives do not matter. I wonder if there was a similar situation here inNY how many would go stand with them? I know I would. I doubt many others would

  9. they should have allowed elderly and disabled full inclusion long ago. The healthy and able is another discussion for me. Would also discourage them for youth.

  11. In those two cases the narrative that people you agree with were pushing was false. You are right about the cameras. That's why cops are wearing body cameras. They use guns to protect themselves from the bad guys and the body cams to protect themselves from the Government.

  12. What the hell is that monster in the background in pictures 2 and 3? It looks like he has a Christmas tree on his head. Maybe you had better start planning on that critter for next year. Maybe get some stand locations picked out. That deer should not go ignored.

  13. A .380 is just a 9mm short. Both .38 caliber. If you don't mind carrying a larger pistol, hands down the 9mm. Problem is 9mm pistols have to be larger to handle the pressure. Too large for my liking for summer carry. There are some pretty small, single stack 9 mm's out there these days though. For me it's S&W Bodyguard .380 in summer, Glock 9mm winter

  14. It was just me for dinner tonight so I made breakfast. I started with roasted garlic chicken sausage and some smoked ham. I then added some onion and a little butter to get things sizzling. After it was warmed up I tossed a slice of pepper jack cheese in and then poured 3 eggs over the top. (Added a splash of milk to the eggs and some pepper) Flipped the omelette once and topped with another slice of pepperjack. Final addition was a few splashes of Franks red hot sauce. Yummy.

  16. A very good article, by people who know history, regarding Hugh Glass, his past and his rifle. He wasn't looking to get revenge. He was looking to get his very rare muzzle loader back. http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/1/11/the-revenant-hugh-glass-and-his-rifle/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=insider&utm_campaign=0116

  17. I love how you constantly use the word "Delusional" when referring to anyone but yourself…LOL!! Im not Prodded from the shadow" by anyone. Fact is you are just one crazy, hate filled socialist old coot, who can't stand anyone who has a different view than yours. If you think that me, or anyone else has to be "prodded " to see that, then I think you have been sniffing the glue you use to make those little toy air plans of yours… LOL!! Keep it coming though…Your ridiculous assertions are "Finger Lick'n Good"!!!!!

  20. I will be 59 in four months, have two bad shoulders, and other health issues. But I think crossbow should be open, for all of archery season, for EVERYONE! Young, old or otherwise! Have it so you need the bow course, as it is more similar to bow than to a muzzle loader. At this point, there really is no reason, not to have full inclusion for the crossbow for 2016!

  23. so my local range officer was a retired police firearm instructor. He got me shooting at 3 yards and 7. 90% of encounters are at this range. I shoot maybe once a month and I'm much, much better now. However, we'd be naive to think many guys shoot even close to this amount. All that came with practice and work on my form. I was almost dead on first time I shot a full size .45 1911, and similarly with a .22. It's very similar to hunting in my opinion. Practice makes perfect. And it's not like riding a bike. You need to keep shooting to stay sharp. Additionally, like hunting with adrenaline and stress you're going to suffer. Thankfully I've never been in that situation with a handgun, but I know what it's like in the treestand. So with enough practice you can become proficient with any gun really. For the average joe, I'd always recommend increasing your odds with an easier to shoot gun.

  24. Politics is what politicians do to get you to vote for them. Voting is what you do to tell politicians what you want from them. They are two distinctly different things. If you don't vote, elected officials know you don't care what they do and they do what is best for them, not their constituents. This is why we have horrible gun laws. Too many pro 2nd Amendment gun owners don't vote and the politicians feel they don't care about their 2nd Amendment rights. If you do not vote, I have to agree with them.

  25. I own a glock23 in .40 and a ruger lcp in .380. I prefer the .40 for it's power but as others mentioned I find myself carrying my pocket lcp far more often, even in the winter where an IWB is easier. Truthfully the kick is about the same for the smaller frame lcp. With only 6 rounds and a relatively small caliber bullet the .380 doesn't have me feeling invincible, but I feel it'll handle 90% of situations I may end up in. I picked up the lcp off gunbroker with the laser for under $300. It's not the smoothest, sweetest shooting gun but it's easy to carry. I honestly suggest you get one of each as time and budget allows, but I'd start with a 9mm first. And I wouldn't go with super compact. Get the mid range frame.

  27. Ha-ha ..... leave it to me to step in and break up this love-fest. I do have objections that go beyond the mere standard of legality. When the DEC steps in and lays muzzleloaders all over the bow season, I will be the one that everyone calls "selfish" or "elitist" or all the other favorite emotionally-charged buzzwords that are so popular for those that choose to stick up for the preservation of bow season. Yes, shortly we may very well find that firearms have been legalized for bow season, it already has been done in the Northern Zone. Shame on me, but I will not speak well of that perfectly legal DEC maneuver and I will not be a supporter.

  30. 9mm for energy. Although it's easier to find an easily concealed .380 pocket stuffer

  31. I like the 9mm as it has a little more ass behind it. Smith & Wesson Shield is my choice, FWIW. That said, I also own a Kel Tec P32 that fits the pocket of swim trunks.............and does get some action occasionally.

  32. Seeing the g/f was not going to be here for dinner, I made sort of a 'fusion' style chowder. Picked up some clam juice, a can of diced tomatoes with chopped jalapeño peppers, jumbo shrimp and scallops, some fresh-water mussels, and some rice noodles. I wanted a seafood chowder, but not Manhattan or actually NE. Sautéed the scallops, shrimp, and mussels on EVOO and garlic, put the tomato/pepper and the clam juice in a pot and added the sea food and let it simmer for an hour. Then I boiled up the rice noodles and iced them to keep them al-dente. It came our great! Chinese rice noodles, Manhattan style clam chowder broth, and my own spice recipe.

  40. I have no problem carrying my Shield 9mm in the summer and I'm in shorts everyday . I wear untucked short sleeved , buttoned , collard shirts . I put the gun on today after the gym , went shopping, to the bank, walked the dog and now I'm lying in my recliner and don't even feel it on my hip . If this was summer the only difference would be my pants would stop at my knee .... And my shirt Sleeves would stop at the elbow . There are times in the summer I drop the 380 in a pocket , like if I'm wearing a wife beater or gym shorts . I kinda look at it like this , if I need to use one what one would I want? The 9 hits harder has more rounds and is easier to hit with and at greater distances . I wonder if anyone who had to use there gun ever said I wish I had a smaller gun that was harder to hit with and had less rounds? Yes it's all a compromise or we'd tote shotguns and ARs but today's slim 9 mm are easy to carry. Over the years I've carried a SW 357 L frame and Glock 40 , the 357 was uncomfortable but with a baggy shirt no body knew. A slim 9 is a piece of cake to carry. While the 9 on the right is a little, much for me to pocket carry compared to the 380 on the left ,its a joy to carry all day on the belt and hides easy.

  42. It's an attempt to buy your vote with your own money. You over paid and they want you to be grateful you're getting some of it back. I would say about 70% of all taxes collected by politicians are taken from people not likely to vote for them and given to those who will.

  44. Last week we had venison curry over rice. Good thing my dad had a successful season, or it would have been chicken or beef curry instead. The next weekend my son is home it will be my dad's venison steaks on the grill (weather permitting grill access). Its nice to have the first (and only) grandson in the house that happens to like venison to have a few lbs thrown my way. I get to benefit from my son's request to my dad for the "speed beef".
