Got out for a couple hours this evening and scooped up my first ever "leap-horn". NO ONE in the history of shed hunting has ever accomplished this feat two years in a row, so they are kinda special,lol

I'm sure conservatives would be fine with an EPA that actually put humans first.

Abolish the EPA entirely? No. Drastically reduce the bureaucratic size of the EPA, and restrict the scope of it's power? Absolutely, yes. The EPA has become an unelected lawmaking body within the federal government. That's wrong, and should be stopped.

I love mine. I really makes rough sighting in a two shot endeavor. Cross hairs on the bull. take a shot. re align cross hairs to bull and secure gun. adjust scope until the cross hairs are over the first bullet hole. ready for fine tuning. Stabile. easy to carry and I have never had a problem with any POI changes out to 300 yards in a range situation after getting it dialed in on the sled. Even using sand bags after that. I have never used it out past that 300 yard mark.

This is somewhat funny. 95 percent of the deer I have killed with a gun were off hand. Should I sight in off hand? For some reason, I don't think that would yield the best result. Same reason people use a bench and bags even though that also can alter poi with different pressure on the stock. Maybe if was shooting 500-600 yds out west it would matter. The longest shot I have ever taken on a deer was 240ish yards. I did kill the deer but that just isn't my style of hunting. I like up close and personal, not sniping. Probably why I much prefer bow hunting. All I can say is that I don't have any problems killing deer with any of the guns I have sighted in using the sled at least at the distances I shoot deer. Too each his own.

I want a participation trophy! I'm kinda' old, so I've never gotten one.

but you haven't shot it? Take it for what it is worth. I wouldn't recommend loading a bunch of any one load until you see if your gun even likes it.

Uggh I ordered 6 boxes from one of the secretaries at work a month or so ago. They came in today...............only 5 boxes made it into the house, ain't enough left in the 6th to bring inside. Uggh

At your prompting - all of you - I followed up with Browning. They say the replacement was a new camera - sans packaging, etc. It arrived in a box with some cushioning around it, nothing but a camera body. The lens was dirty when it arrived. The camera had fingerprints on it. The only thing in the box besides camera and packaging was a note "we tested this one". So, maybe they sent a new one. However, their techs need to wash their hands and learn to communicate.

here's a pic of a beardboard i put together for the last turkey banquet. I had a piece of firewood that i noticed had some spalting in it so I chopped it up into a 16" board and threw this together.

Get a kinetic bullet puller they're less than $20. I'm a bit curous as to how you worked up to a load 3gr under max. Rule of thumb is to start 10% under maximum & work up. That would be 44gr or 5gr under max..

A 'lead-sled' type of rest generates an entirely different POI from anything encountered in a hunting situation. They're meant for shooting lots of rounds during load development, testing bedding, checking for stock/barrel pressure points, etc. They're a testing tool, and are not meant for sighting in a gun for hunting. Unless you plan to carry it, and the bench, into the field with you. I'll go ahead and be the a****le here: If you need a 'lead-sled' type of rest to sight in your hunting gun, you're probably using too much gun. Testing? Sure. But sighting in? Nope.

I disagree having actually sighted in the same rifle off bags and then with the led sled. Only difference was that my groups were slightly tighter off the sled because it is a better rest. Then again, I don't shoot 400yds so perhaps this doesn't apply for the snipers out there.

I love mine when shooting the .300 and 7mm magnums!

I would say that they would be great for load development, but "sighting in"? Are you guys going to carry the lead sled around while you are hunting? I wouldn't expect a weapon to shoot to the same POI from the shoulder/bags as W/the lead sled. I sight in over bags W/my left hand holding the forearm on top of the bag and another bag under the toe. The recoil should be the same as when I shoot off the rails of the stand. Recoil affects POI.

No one I know has ever told an exciting story about putting the "stalk" on a stalk of celery, or an encounter that put a trophy "head" of lettuce on their wall. Your life is about to become a whole lot more interesting and exciting. .... first thing you'll need to learn how to do is the "backstrap boogey"! Same I want to know where it hits with a perfectly steady rest at long distances, then like I said, I shoot off a book bag or my knee which is a typical hunting situation out west. Never had issues with the gun shooting differently unless I pull it. Of course my groups aren't as close off my knee or book bag as with a lead sled, but that's human error and may be because of the amount of drinks I had the night before.Of course I don't bring a sled out west. I shoot off a bench with bags to make sure nothing got jarred. I don't hunt in rifle county in NY so I got years without shooting a rifle.
