  5. I inadvertently caught a coyote in my bobcat set last January. Rather than taking the time to skin , flesh and ship off one pelt for a measly $30.00 - 40.00 , I decided to have another mount done. Only this time I wanted to incorporate the trap on the coyotes back foot as it appeared when I walked up on him. I figured it might be different then the basic life size mount.

  20. I was in the stand and settled at 6:10 am. Finally remembered at 6:40 or so to load an arrow in my bow! (Hey, I'm a newbie) Very dark and foggy until 9am or so, off and on mostly light rain. Did not see any deer moving, but really enjoyed the early fall woods. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  21. Not much activity in 3j.. seen a couple doe and that was it. On my way to my spot my trail cam sent me a pic of a bear walking the trail i had to walk in this morning when I got there. Was hoping he was hanging around my stand but didn’t see him

  22. Why hang off stand ,that's why the bottom has holes ,just like the tub drain, you push it through the holes with your heel. Hanging over the side is too dangerous.

  24. I don't bowhunt in the rain very often. And only when it is a very light rain, with no heavy rain in the forecast. Also only take high percentage shots. And my max range shrinks from 30 yards to 20. With the wet leaves and ground, a light blood trail can be diluted quickly and made almost impossible to follow.

  25. I don’t like hunting in the rain bow , gun etc. Me personally it’s not worth it during archery, if you happen to make a low percentage shot and run the risk of a poor blood trail the wet ground will not help in tracking..

  29. Hey man, it's me! grampy! I thought that was you up there! I gave you a wave but maybe you didn't see me? Not much on the cam but a small buck and those doe you are watching. Just so ya know, my wife has names for them. Give me a few more minutes, and I'll have this stand strapped in. Not as young as I used to be, and I'm afraid of Heights too! Figured if I grunted and groaned enough, you'd come over and give me a hand? Almost done. Then I'll head out to your truck, drop the tailgate and sip suds till ya come out! Just yell if ya need me buddy!!!

  33. I always try to make it at least half way through October before firing up the wood stove. I'm thinking about lighting it today. The house is cold and damp and my poor old bones need to be warm. Anybody want to talk me out of it? It's like an alcoholic asking if one drink is okay. 7 months of wood-burning is a hassle, 8 months will suck. And I haven't even cleaned the stove or chimney from last year. The stove is full of stinkbugs. I hear them rattling down the flue every day and can smell them when I walk by the stove. Screw it, I will be warm tonight and the stinkbugs will be dead.

Also waiting on 50# of San Marzanos to ripen so I can can them whole. Applesauce from our apple trees in our yard and long red hot peppers from our farm. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  36. Just heard the metal clanking. He’s setting up a stand. Yep. There he is, in a tree. Ha... gotta love public land hunting. Dude... if you’re on this forum, could ya throw a camo top over yourself next time you hang a stand on opening day? That’d be helpful to your fellow hunters. Other than that, good luck, and be safe in that stand, man. I’m giving it another hour and a half hoping those doe really, really like these acorns. Hope my buddy here is out before then. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk

  42. Nice run there Water Rat!!! On a more serious note I'll add this: Victor Davis Hanson offered up the most succinct summary of Blasey Ford's testimony: "The "process" of memorializing Ford's testimony involved a strange inversion of constitutional norms: The idea of a statute of limitations is ossified; hearsay is legitimate testimony; inexact and contradictory recall is proof of trauma, and therefore of validity; the burden of proof is on the accused, not the accuser; detail and evidence are subordinated to assumed sincerity; proof that one later relates an allegation to another is considered proof that the assault actually occurred in the manner alleged; motive is largely irrelevant; the accuser establishes the guidelines of the state's investigation of the allegations; and the individual allegation gains credence by cosmic resonance with all other such similar allegations." This was from Clarice Feldman's piece in American Thinker this morning.
