  1. The fact that this was a gay bar makes me wonder if they where targeted or he had a "lovers quarrel." God bless the families of this senseless tragedy. One thing is for sure, Americans where the target and we must stand by our brothers and sisters in this time of need. We stand untied on this terrible front and will not back down, give in or succumb to these traitors of American Freedom!!! We stand by your side Orlando Florida!

    Fish/age

Fish do not reach maturity until 5.5, I simply see if it has 8 pts and a large body, lol. If it does not have at least 140 inches of bone on its head I throw it back. Sorry I think I have sun stroke and dehydration from fishing Saranac for 4 days. Rock bass, small mouths and large mouth bass and some pike few perch as well. Caught about a 3 + lbs small and large mouth and one decent 6 lbs pike where the biggies for the extended weekend. You can estimate by length and width I would figure but to get an exact I am not sure. Interesting topic.
  3. Happy B-Day, hope you are out enjoying nature!
  4. Cool pics! I was hunting in Cooperstown one year and I saw 2 doe, looked like a mother and yearling, run across the road and basically dive into the lake. I was like WHAT THE? Then I noticed a bunch of coyotes stop at the top of the hill that where chasing them. Crazy! They knew the lake and or road with many people would save them, amazing. The coyotes did not have venison that night. Cool story Larry302!
  5. Well I can say one of the largest ones I have seen where up at Saranac Lake and some out on the farms out east LI. The one I saw up in Saranac was huge, larger than a half dollar almost 2 inches long, that would freak me out if I was driving that's for sure! I was not going near him! Hope they killed the bugs for the trip! FISHING!
  6. So many factors to account for! Depending on how well they made it through the winter, how healthy, stressed, food quantity and quality can all make a difference on how the antlers will grow just to mention a few factors.
  7. For me shooting a compound is all about consistency. Simply put most traditional shooters just can not compare to my accuracy. At distances I am able to shoot deer, many traditional shooters would be lucky to even hit the target. Personally I do not think of the crossbow as a real bow, to me the only thing similar is the fact that it has a string. Will air bows be considered the same? What about a bow that uses gun powder to accelerate the arrow? Then the argument is "Well they both shoot an arrow, just like the crossbow and at similar speeds." To me bow is all about challenging yourself but I would rather have an ethical kill shot that I feel confident in to spare my prey any suffering. For me the compound provides this happy medium of reliability and accuracy and extends my range past 25 yards I would feel limited to with a traditional bow. In so far as arguing about weather or not crossbows should be included, well we could argue about this for another 10 pages as was done before on this site. Simply put we are a stubborn bunch and set in our ways. This results in us arguing about many things from Compound vs Traditional vs crossbow vs gun vs tree stand hunting vs stalking vs tracking vs sitting on a rock vs any other thing you want to add, Chevy vs Ford vs Toyota, 30-06 vs 308 vs 44 mag vs 223 etc. We think our way is best an the others are not and like to argue that point. Because we are so stubborn the argument causes rifts in our ranks. I will not join bow hunters, or NRA because they do not follow my exact point of view or I will never use a crossbow or compound because it is too easy, I will never hunt out of a tree because that's not hunting, lol real easy to find a fight in the hunting community is my point. Don't take that last statement as fact it was just to prove a point with sarcasm. We are always on the offensive about defending out hunting rights, just wish we could unite better to preserve it.
  8. They are popping up everywhere! Nice pics!
  9. Personally I like Garmin but the new models have a bunch of thing not really needed and can be complicated if you are not familiar with them. After about 15 years the contact broke in the old one. If you get just the GPS he should be happy. (Not sure but you use to have to purchase the maps), just a FYI in case you do not have them and they still require you to purchase them.
  10. Suffolk Archers is having the annual spring fling on Sunday May 22. 30$ for non members come on out and shoot some targets. All in good fun. Light breakfast and full lunch included. Most shots are in the 20-35 yard range with a few exceptions, shorter for traditional bows. Hope you can make it!
  11. Does not look good to me, I think it is the roundness of the wood and two tone that turns me off.
  12. Congrats on being published! Really like your videos, looks like a lot of fun!
