Actually it was a button buck, normally I would not take it but this is my first archery deer so it is a good icebreaker

It is a trite but true adage.. "Any deer taken with the bow is a trophy." And you better believe ill take a "lil" trophy like that tomorrow if one steps in my lane...I got half a freezer left to fill.

Congrats BK

Thanks 7J, that exactly how I take it, besides archery is winding down and I haven't seen big boys yet...steaks and peperoni will be ready on Friday :-)

Ha-ha .... look at that smile! Nothing like the first. Mine was a spike with 6" spikes a whole bunch of years ago. I actually made an antler mount of him and it hangs in the livingroom as one of my proudest accomplishments. Every time I look at that, I remember that day.

Congratulations and lets hope this is the first of many deer in your archery future.

Thanks Doc, I was thinking about mounting it but I decided against it, I'm keeping the hide though that will be my reminder

I always love hearing about the first archery kill, congrats! Did you post it in the harvest so that we don't hijack this thread?

Thanks, I can re-post it or link it....It was "live from the stand" when I shot the deer so I figured this was the right place to post it......

personally i think there should be a setting for this thread that doesnt allow anyone to post unless there is a picture attached..... ive read way to many "nice buck", "great shot!" posts, sick of scrolling through garbage.

Ive already said the attaboys are fine. Dont like it, tough.

As far as the rest of it goes, Im cleaning out everything but the pics and attaboys from this thread AGAIN. I have already asked once, this is twice.

Ive cleaned out as much as I felt needed to be. If the site owner cleans it further, thats up to him.

Again, this thread is for harvest pics and the associated stories. Congrats and attaboys are fine, but lets try to keep it on topic.

As has been said before, foul language, etc will result in a suspension and possible banning from the site. Please abide by the rules, we do not want to babysit, suspend or ban anyone, but will do so if need be.

Here is a copy of the rules for those that didnt read them before...

Took this 8 pointer as he was hot on a doe Saturday 11/3. The bucks are really blowing up now and pushing the baldies good. He dressed 127. First venny in freezer this year. I shot at this deer earlier in the season and missed but was lucky enough to get another shot. Good luck all this year.

Thanks WNY - Further problems will be perm bans. We all don't have time for this crap.

Hey Everyone! This is Louis Backlas/ Cross Over the River Outdoors. I just posted a new video to my YouTube channel that I though ya'll might get a kick out of! Have you ever used a decoy to hunt whitetails? If you haven't before you might want to start! I woke up one morning and look out my front window only  to find that my 3D deer target was in pieces all over the front lawn! A fired up buck decided to take his frustrations out on the target!  this took place sometime in November during the peek of the rut. Hope ya'll get a kick out of it!

Its that time of the year again! This is our 9th year for doing this thread and its always a lot of fun! Post in this thread using your smart phone (or other device you can get to the internet with) from your stand / woods with your thoughts, current conditions, pictures, sightings, etc.  Don't forget, the site is accessible via your mobile device and there is even an app - Tapatalk enabled!    Lets see those pics!
Bonus to anyone that LIVE streams from the stand  I'll give it a shot.

      Hey All,
New to the forum, already missing the deer season and have curiosity to quell. This was a great non-typical I was chasing all season in a bow-only area of Ithaca. Anyone know or hear of a non-typical of this caliber being killed? I'll be out scouting for him aggressively soon enough. Thanks!
      Nick

Hello folks. I'm a novice hunter from almost Central NY. I live amongst the cow fields about 20 minutes south of the ADK park. I'm here hoping that I can learn from those who know more than I do. That's probably most of you. LOL. This is my second season and so far I still have all of my tags. I have a rifle but I'm not comfortable shooting it in the area I hunt due to people being near. I'm hoping to fill at least one of my tags before Dec 19.
