Ticks

They are crazy around here this year (8N).

Been getting multiples on me every time I go into the brush by my house. At my camp across town they're bad, too.

The worst is at work. Yesterday we were in Honeyoe working, and between my coworker and I, we had 9 on us in less than an hour of work.

They're mostly deer ticks.

Work provides cutter which helps, and permethrin, but you can't realistically treat every set of work clothes you own.

Have had several embedded in me this year, but found them quick.

Is anyone else seeing a lot of them? How about on the deer that have been taken?

In central NY 4F deer are loaded with ticks. Pulled 2 off me this year (the tiny ones), like yourself good thing I found them embedded within 24 hrs. Something needs to be done with those little bastards. Hate them.

I was running a backpack leaf blower for about 4 hours last weekend and found two on my clothes.   
 

I haven’t been close ego a deer yet to comment on them.  

Lol, I’m sure they’re loaded though.

3S is usually loaded but I have not seen any on me after my hunts (clothes treated with Permethrin) and don't recall many on the doe I took earlier. Admittedly it was late and I wasn't paying attention if they were present .

Thats weird...  hours walking around in horrible tick areas in dutchess and not a single tick.  And I have not been putting any spray on...

Believe it or not down here in Suffolk county 1C,  Not a single tick on me so far this season

I have yet to hunt the Island this year, but I picked up a ton while bird hunting in Stewart this year. I spray my clothes, so I don't ever worry about them, but the one time I forgot to spray my dog, I pulled 25 off of her. Seems about average for ticks down here this year though

I’ve also found it to be a surprisingly mild tick year in 3 and 4.

Maybe it was the lack of rain this summer that's causing us to see less ticks in the south east. What ever the reason is, Im loving it!

We are in PA for the week and there are a lot of ticks. Except for 1 sit, in the rain, there have been ticks crawling on us. Nasty critters.

Loaded in 4U. Walked through a small brushy patch with a client the other day and had several crawling on me.  Buddy who cuts up deer said they are loaded.

Spent hours walking to find that deer I lost and didn't see a single one on me.ive seen 1 tick on the property(8g)I hunt in all the years,I love it!

Maybe ticks come from
Acorns!!! Haven't seen those this year either!!

I feel very fortunate (fingers crossed) that in all my years of hunting 8H, I have had no tick problems. Now when I go down by Canaseraga, that’s a different story. The deer you kill down there are crawling with ticks and if you venture into the wrong spots, you will be too.

They are terrible right now. I didn't take dogs out this last weekend because of those little suckers. 

I use a lice comb on them before I drive away and comb them again before I let them out of my car.
