Yup!!! My family has been doing for as long as I can remember and whenever I tell people that, your reaction is often what I hear!
Give it a shot but a cheap red…about 50-50 with a bunch of ice

We always had homemade wine mixed 50/50 with Sprite or 7-up until about age 12 when we were then allowed to have one small glass straight up.

I am in a Homemade Winemaking Club and at the summer dinners they have sliced fruits (and ice!) to put in with your red wine if you like.  It’s refreshing, but not something I would do on a regular basis.

Presentation always sucks but roasted fingerling potatoes and monkfish in duck fat. Brussel sprouts not in the picture were also cooked in duck fat.

Made a homemade minestrone soup for dinner. Huge crock full. They will be distributed to family.

Couple nights back a short walk from condo .

4 scallops ,6 shrimp with some lemon butter sauce with cappers ,everything  from the rice to vegetables as excellent. The drinks at $14 a pop annoyed the Mrs.

I second that. Octopus is my favorite! When I go to Croatia I certainly eat it four or five times a week.
