crappyice
I haven't done these in a while, had to make some for my last Sunday night hockey game of the season. What’s the process? I am sure you posted before but I forget and need a knock out app for an upcoming retirement partySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Uncle Nicky
Wild hog sausage topped with peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese. Side of spaghetti and a garden salad. Mommas at work, just me and the pooches.
philoshop
In three months we'll have the five year anniversary of this thread. Some didn't like the thread, but they're gone now, so they didn't really matter anyway. It's been a lot of fun, and it always makes my mouth water. Start thinking about the bestest and most favorite recipe and/or foodie photo you've grabbed or seen here. Just to be clear, there will be no prizes given for this competition unless someone invites me to dinner. Just kidding about dinner. There will be no prizes at all.
tarheel95
Yellowfin tuna fish tacos. Made with red and green onion on flatop, with a bit of soy. Diced cucumber, kimchee and a bit of wasabi mayo to top it off. Totally made up recipe and everyone asked for more. wolc123
We are still eating like royalty. Spaghetti with meat sauce tonight (doe fawn). The party will soon be over however. There are only a couple packs of that "fattted calf" grind left in our freezer. When it's gone, we will be eating like peasants again, because all the rest of our grid is from mature bucks. I am saving a couple packs of vacuum-sealed button-buck backstrap, just in case FSW shows up at the casino meet and greet this summer. If you all can talk him into going, I will do my best to make it (bearing that special gift for him, along with a lower jaw from a "probable 3.5" that I would like him to verify). . Everywhere I try fish tacos in NY state fries the fish and I don't like fish cooked that way. The best I have had, north of the border, is at the South Beach bar in Ocean Beach SanDiego CA.. About a month ago, we were down in Cozumel Mexico for some "real" ones and they were awesome - made with grilled mahi-mahi (those are also my favorites at South Beach). My wife makes them with grilled NY smallmouth bass and they are pretty good, much better than any others I have had in NY.

Coincidentally, yesterday my dad was talking about some different recipes he wants to try that he had found, for us to make while we are up at camp working. One was hamburger soup! So I had him send it to me, so I just threw a double batch together, for dinner, and lunches for the week. Super simple, easy, fast, and delicious! This is why this thread is my favorite...next time I will use fresh garlic, I typically do not like granulated unless its on meats, etc, but for ease of a quick simple dish for camp, I followed the recipe to a T 2 lbs ground meat 1 can drained kidney beans 1 can undrained diced tomatoes 1 can beef stock, and 4 cups water 4 stalks diced celery 1 diced head of cabbage sea salt/pepper/granulated garlic/paprika That looks really good have to try that one of these days .

I usually smoke them using apple wood chips but you can use oven too. Once in awhile I’ll add a slice of water chestnut for a little crunch. Taco tim added a twist to this few years ago and used wild turkey breast into nuggets. Great as well. I’ve had quite a few people who’ve never had venison ask for more cooked this way.

I have a crock pot, a toaster oven, a microwave, a single burner propane camp stove and a small grill for the summer. I don't use more than one appliance at a time. I also have exactly two plates, two bowls, and two each; forks, teaspoons and soupspoons. Minimalism is a good thing.

Fletch
Fried gator that was super. Then did a marinated flank steak on the grill. It was ok but doubt I’d ever get one again as the price is equal to or more than strip and it isn’t close to as good.I did smoke some Sicilian sausage and some Brats that came out real good.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd like to tell you I saw the recipe on TV or learned it from cooking school. Truthfully, I saw the "cook" on a party boat make fluke tacos on the their flattop and I thought it was a great idea. Been doing it that way ever since. Not really a big fan of deep fried tilapia tacos that you get in most places. dbHunterNY
last night i grilled a whole venison backstrap with a secret rub. also on the grill was Lupo's chicken spiede kabobs (for you Binghamton/southern tier folks). last on the grill was kabobs with sweet peppers and shrimp with old bay seasoning. all that was basted with butter simmered with olive oil, sea salt, and garlic. then mashed taters and green beans fixed the same as my last post. no pics. us and some close cousins that recently went through some tough times, seven in total, couldn't finish it all. multiple second plates. left overs are probably what we'll be eating tonight.
