Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

I'd like to see Mayweather get almost knocked out by TKO then get KO'd.  I know Manny's record doesn't back up that idea though.  I respect his title and accomplishments, but you can't really say he hasn't picked and choosed who he fights to keep title.  Obviously don't know him personally, but Mayweather comes across as a douche.  He's says he doesn't care about money, yet he flaunts it and has plenty of it, and will especially after this fight regardless of outcome.

I hope they throw simultaneous punches that land at the exact same time and both of them fall to the canvass unconscience together.  Its disgusting that 2 guys standing in a square with gloves on are going to generate $100,000,000.  Last I heard, tickets for the event were going for about $350,000 each.

This is what is wrong with this country.  People put a higher value on entertainment and garbage than they do families, food, work, etc.

I agree it's disgusting.  the fight with pay per view and everything else I heard it's more like 4-5 times that amount.

I would be willing to fight both at the same time for half the money!

But you wouldn't get to enjoy the $, because the average person would literally die in the ring with a professional fighter (let alone 2 of them at the same time).

I'm rooting for Manny, but think Mayweather plays defense as usual and wins by decision in a boring fight.

Manny knocks him out in the 6th round. Then they both take their millions and live happily ever after.

i'll match you and then some.... I'd fight both just to get rid of my mortgage, allowing me to build an addition to have more than just my first 9 month old baby girl. right now i seem to be stuck.  as the wife is at home watching the daughter most of the week. lol

i'm 6'-0" with reach and all the stats to match my monkey arms and the most I was able to slim down while working on the family farm was to fit comfortably into 34" waist jeans and I still weighed in at 208 lbs.  i boxed in college for fun and took martial arts (tae-kwon-do) before that.  still beyond contestation each one, on their own, could give me some hard knocks to make me stumbling toward the ropes.  all that said i think the first statement about my mortgage trumps the rest of my "stats" ten times over.  those lavish lifestyles don't want to mess with that kind of motivation!! hahaha

Mayweather will play the usual "avoid the punch" dance around the ring. Would love to see manny win by KO or decision. cant stand mayweather. So much loot being generated by this fight, cant wait for the sequel in 2016 though both are not young fighters at this point

I don't pay much attention to boxing anymore, but for all of Mayweather's Dbaggery, he's smart enough to have a team that makes him money with the money he's got. He's worth $280M before this fight.

Would love to see him KOd but this fight is a few years too late to be a prime matchup for both. I think Mayweather comes out on top in some capacity. Alot of the tickets never hit the free market being reserved for high value audiences to the casinos.

Mayweather is a tactician in the ring while Pacman is explosive. If this match was taking place 5 years ago when Pacman was still at his physical peak, I would say Pacman. I also think this is why Mayweather ran from this hid from this fight and waited till Pacman is passed his prime. Now that Pacman has slowed down as seen in his recent loses, I think Mayweather has the edge. I would love Pacman to knock him out.

Everytime they step into the ring, there is a risk to their lives. I don't see any problem with them getting whatever obscene gobs of money they can get. It is a gladiator style activity and if they get rich from it, I simply say it is one damned hard earned wealth.

I love boxing, warts and all. There is a kind of raw honesty to it where a fighter is forced to confront an awful lot of what he is made of. The emotions, courage, and dedication are undeniable, but I will admit that there is a level of barbarism to it all, kind of in the same vein of another sport that has guys chasing after another with a weird shaped ball with the intent of grinding him into the ground with as much force and damage as possible. But, I will not assign all the ills of the world to the fact that such a sport exists, nor will I whine about the amounts of money involved. I am not one who wails and moans about the amount of money anyone can make in the sports world (or anywhere else for that matter). They are worth whatever they can get people to pay for them just like any of us.

I am not expecting that this fight will be any Hagler/Hearns kind of fight. I expect that Mayweather will display his defensive skills and avoid being knocked out and Pacquiao will be the one pressing the fight (but carefully). Fight will end by decision .... no knockouts.

Everybody has a puncher's chance.

I very much agree.  And if anyone has the edge as a puncher in this fight it would be Pacquiao.

I think the vast majority of people interested in this fight want Pacquiao to win.  It would be great.  I do think the odds are that it will go the distance, however.  Most people think that a decision would go to Mayweather, but don't be too sure.  The promoters would love to see a rematch that would gross as much as this fight or more, so the chances for a rematch would be better if Pacquiao be given the decision and NOT Mayweather.  If Mayweather would win a close decision he would NEVER give Pacquiao another chance at him.  He wouldn't have the guts.  The ultimate scenario would be for Pacquiao to win by knockout and then retire and never to give Mayweather a rematch.  Boy would that piss him off good!   Pacman could practically buy the Philippines with the money he's earned and live happily ever after.
