Lawdwaz
Great, kill a deer and butcher the rest of the day. Record warmth? damn the luck. I'll probably pull the hide and put a couple bags of ice in the chest cavity. Then it's Miller Time........ Sounds like some rain mixed in also for the weekend. Doesn't look like any snow even for the late ML/archery either. Crazy season................
Taylormike
As terrible as the weather has been for hunting, I'll take it. Now let's hope for early spring. Finally a break for the deer...
stoneam2006
Right...and it will be my luck that right after Christmas when I try to lay a long steel line we will get a bunch and will shorten that idea.... Critter4321
a real good hard cold snap for about 10 days would do wonders to knocking down some of the tick numbers that is if there is no snow to insulate them first
growalot
I'm done with deer ...but this (after I get stuff organized) is squirrel season for me...so I like it!
Steuben Jerry
I'm going to depart from the popular opinion, but I have to admit I kind of like the warmth. No good for tracking, but very good for long comfortable sits. There, I said it!
turkeyfeathers
Deer don't need to move during the day , that's for sure. Dusk n dawn going to be it with it being this warm. Hopefully I catch a buck chasing a doe ( only dmps left ) until ML season
WNYBuckHunter
I dont know about that turkeyfeathers, I spotted quite a few deer on Sunday during mid day. Shot a nice doe that was munching on turnips in one of our food plots at noon, and it was 50+ degrees out. I like the cold weather because I dont have to do a rush cut and quarter job. Plus it just feels more deery out there.
upstate
it's nice for long sits in a stand, but it's also a nice time for them to hunker down and stay cool, they're in their winter coats. I'll be one of those old guys kicking them in the ass to get them moving.

I'd gladly put my foot in my mouth tomorrow if I see one
grampy
Can't remember the last time we went an entire deer season with no snow at all. The coldest morning sit this year was in the high teens. And to be honest, I kinda liked it!

The_Real_TCIII
^Pressure. I dont know what everyone elses opinion is but I dont think the rut was very intense this year. All the deer i have seen taken have been fat and happy, not run down from rutting at all. The deer I took had a lot of fat on them in late November. This time of year deer should be in a hurry to put weight back on for Winter but it seems like it isnt as critical this year. Again this is all just my opinion. Just looking at the harvest thread there were a few nice bucks taken this week even that are fat as can be

LET EM GROW
ive killed a few doe through the years in late season, while warm temps were present during the middle of the day. i agree with 1st n last hour or so, but i like the mid day sits as well if a food source is present.. Not sure we even fell below 30 in 8h. Not by much, that's for sure. In 8X we have been in the low 20s almost every morning for a while now. Heavy frost almost every morning then highs in the upper 40s. I'm guessing that the lake is still warm hence your warmer temps.
