Who has bird feeders, and what interesting birds have you had

We have one right out side our window and the coolest  birds we have had are American gold finch, Baltimore Oriole,  Downy wood pecker and a Red bellied woodpecker.

Love to see finch..Some yellow and some purple...I could stare at the feeder for hours..

No feeder but I watch birds all day everyday. There’s a red bellied woodpecker nesting in a tree in my yard this year. The little wren didn’t show up this year first time in 15 years. To many favorites to list but the gray cat bird is probably my favorite bird.

We put feeders out mid winter and the birds ignored them for a long time. Now things are crazy,we have not had this many birds here ever. We got red winged blackbirds,grackles,yellow and purple finches,a cardinal,a tufted titmouse,sparrows,chickadees,juncos and the coolest thing is a group of 10 or more evening grosbeaks. I have never seen those before. My wife said they used to be common when she was young,but then vanished,some disease hit them hard,but it is neat to see them come back. 

We usually have some house wrens here too,but they have not arrived yet. 

We also have robins and some swallows. It really is crazy with birds here right now. We are also waiting for our resident flycatchers return.

My favorite are the Chickadees. 

We have tufted titmouse, nuthatch, goldfinches, grackles, redwing blackbirds, woodpeckers, and a few others. 

Saw a red colored finch looking bird a few weeks back.

Love watching the birds.

Have one up in the winter, but by April it becomes a "bear feeder" and gets taken down.

Over-heard a BS session in the local diner a few days ago talking about feeders for a variety of birds. Found it unusual that some were attracting and feeding Balt Oriels with oranges and jellies. Gents were also discussing a certain variety of sparrow that hijacks nests and will kill other species of birds. Showed how little I actually know about birds!!!!

Saw one of these turkey hunting with a buddy a couple years ago.  He knows his birds and said it was a scarlet tanager.  Never seen one before and it was in the tree right next to us.

Got the usual brids hanging around my feeders.  Pretty much the same as mentioned.   Two wild turkey hens visit a couple times a day.  Had to fix the poles there on because a bear has knocked them down twice.

No feeder for me either but my favorite bird is the chickadee. Enjoy watching all birds but the chickadee puts a smile on my face.  I call them the “happy bird”. 

Then of course my 2nd favorite is the mourning dove.... tasty and enjoyable to view.

I’m fortunate to have good bird habitat so I get to see all kinds of cool birds through out the year. 

Favorites are Blue birds, swallows, Baltimore oriels, and all the various small birds I can’t remember right now lol. 

Humming birds should be back in a week or two.

Wife just picked up a hummingbird feeder. She bought the powder to mix. 

What do you use in your HB feeders?

We boil up some sugar water. 

We buy jelly stuff for the Oriels, works ok good to keep them around after the apple blossoms fade. 

Edit to add we also have a lot of flowers for the hummers.

Got a bird feeder out for most of the year, with the usual birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and mice visiting. The hawks and and owls use it as a buffet table.

I get a wide variety of songbirds as I feed them year round. The most common ones are : starlings , pigeons , grackles , woodpeckers , chickadees , cardinals , blue jays , sparrows , doves and turkeys. Other visitors are : deer , squirrels , coons , and chipmunks. The coolest looking bird I've seen was an Indigo Bunting.
