I remember them gobbling to church bells , firehouse sirens , lawnmowers , jake brakes , car doors slamming and chainsaws just to name a few. The gobble well to the horn on my 82 Honda 50 moped best turkey scouting vehicle ever!! Ride the ridge woods road and blow the horn!

That's why I brought up hour by hour.. rain suppose to stop by 630 pm tonight or so, 2 hours to dry off fly up to roost . and birds should be happy it's not raining in am!! Sounding off well I hope! At least that's been pattern this week here

Should be cleared up by 5am in my area. Sitting a ridge top between 4 fields. Drops off to gullies on each side.

stubborn1VT
All day rain tomorrow in the forecast for me. In preparation for rainy days I cleared out a spot in an abandoned cabin. It has been there since before I was born. The only thing left standing is one wall and the metal roof. I have two windows to shoot out and I cleared shooting lanes and paced some landmarks last weekend. I don't care for decoys, but will use them with this set-up since I can't run and gun. The cabin is 150 yards above a hay field that the birds use a ton. I should be in the game at least. I will snap a picture if I manage to be successful. If not, I like my odds for Saturday.

Five Seasons
getting up early sucks. So I try to break it up. I have to hunt the opener, can't help myself. Planning on tomorrow and sunday. Both days are supposed to rain... but 2 4am days in a row, especially after a month of waking up at 8 is a tough task for my candy ass. I gave permission to a guy from the farm nextdoor to hunt my spot , so hopefully he’ll score tomorrow. He’s says he heard two Toms there the other morning . I may actually go sometime this year, just found some turkey shells for my daughters 20 ga. ( sold my turkey gun years ago ) while searching for my tags , I did find another sealed N95 mask lol . Got 20 more in route to the house as well .
