I’ve had gobbles since 5:20. He’s horny, over 50 gobbles so far, I quit counting, lol. He’s roosted 250 yds away on the other side of the field.

All quiet on the Western Front, but we were getting a good soaker as it got light so I’m not expecting to hear much. Just gonna wait here in their favorite rainy day field corner.

Heard gobbles about 5:30. Have seen 10 deer. Idk if my box call is damp but it sounds terrible and all the practice I did with my mouth call and I feel like I sound like a wounded goose. Just going to be patient and not call.

Have my son with me this a.m.Heard distant gobbles earlier. Ran into 2 hunters on my neighbors property. But got a participation award already.

Rain cooperated, but only 2 lone distant gobbles. Usually this spot is on fire early in the year.

Was late getting in of course and I forgot my water in the truck, not bad for the first morning rust haha

Same. Was in bed at 9 and couldn’t fall asleep till much later. A restless sleep too of course as I’m still a 12 year old with excitement

+1 on the afternoon nap. Feels like a new day afterward.

What does it say about me when most of my excitement waking up that early is thinking about my nap!!

Got a tom strutting about 150yds away for 15 minutes now. He sees the decoys for sure. Not sure what to do so I am just watching.

No gobbles yet, however we did get a hen to come in 5 yards from the blind.

Had five hens fly down into the brush 100 yds out between me and the Tom around 6. I saw his white head in the brush near them. They milled around but disappeared on me after 20 mins or so. Haven’t heard a gobble since fly down.

Had one going outta sight but close not long ago.  Now quiet

Decided to go across the road.  Several strutters in neighbors field.   Closest I can get is probably 1000 yrds. No permission.
