EHD...

I did a little walking today at a preserve near where I hunt. I came across 3 dead deer. I would suspect that it was EHD as they were very far from the nearest road and didn’t show any signs of being shot. DEC was notified. This was on the east end of Long Island. I would think once more hunters hit the woods this week, numbers of dead deer found may increase. I was just wondering if anyone else has found any dead deer as well lately.

I’m sure that there will be many more found once hunters start getting out at the end of the week unfortunately.

All of the state parks were notified to look out for it. I heard that they found some in Caumsett State Park in Huntington.

Been seen floating in the Hudson River by Athens and going up on shore

Took a walk yesterday around the swamps. Fortunately, I didn't see any dead deer. Hopefully I stays that way.

No frost expected in the extended forecast where I live. Hope I get to at least see some deer this year with the gun. Last year I didn't hear any shots on Opening Day.....that's never happened in the last 40 plus years that I've been hunting.

Sad stuff for sure. If it was my area I would be booking a hotel out in the southwest corner of the state and hunting state land during the rut!

I’m starting to hear that it’s becoming pretty widespread around here.

Yes it does. I know there’s some more but didn’t see them but had clients smell them while on stand the other day. I can only imagine what’s dead out there, these were stumbled upon while doing pheasant trips on our preserve. Here’s just a few found

I haven't seen any dead deer in the woods, when out and scouting.  Few on the side of the highways.

No need to for any disease, God will protect his creations

Saw a video someone had  of one dying near a stream . Then a Coyote  made a wide birth around it . Didn't even go near it to smell it .
