Mink “worms”??

 I caught a mink the other day…when I was skinning it, I found an extremely long and thin worm in the back leg…looks exactly like angel hair pasta. It looks like it could be a bunch of worms intertwined but I only found one end.  I have seen this a few times in the past…never very pleasant to work around.  Anyone know what it is (I don’t).

Parasitic creatures are the thing that really sleeve me out. I don’t eat cod fish that much because of them.

Bears are loaded with them. Most things that scavenge are loaded with some type of parasite.

Bears are not loaded with the same worms .they have round worms .

Cod worms are nasty…. In culinary school I took a month long class on fish butchery…. We spent days over a lighted table pulling those nasty things.

I should say ,both are roundworms ,but the issue with the mink is slightly different where the worms live in the legs .

Amazes me trappers don’t contract more diseases.It gets tough cutting around coon and mink legs having worms in your face .Here Dino ,here is a thread on tman from 18’

Similar to the parasites that bass, etc get from the Kingfisher birds (i.e., black peppering).  I read you can eat the fish that are affected…
