  1. 58 lbs here. Keep the hunting situation in mind. Cold temps, stiff from sitting. When a shooter walks out you want to be able to pull the bow back with a minimum of movement.

  5. I cook backstraps very simply: In a pan with a tiny bit of olive oil with Cabelas Mountain Man Bourbon Rub and parsley sprinkled on top. I use A1 steak sauce for dipping. I cook them on like low-medium heat, because they cook really fast and can dry out easily. They continue cooking even after taking them out of the pan. Regarding the hearts, I have no idea. I never brought one home. Actually, the last 2 whitetails I shot were right through the heart anyway.

  7. I don't see why it wouldn't help. After all you are using your back and shoulder muscles to draw and hold your bow, unless I am mistaken. Why is it impossible? I am 30, work out 5-6 days a week for 15-25 minutes. We do super sets of 5-10 x 10 sets pull ups followed by push ups (3-4 times a week). Every Wednesday we do 100 pull ups and 200 push ups with about 10 second brakes between, takes about 25 minutes. Just because you can't do it, doesn't make it IMPOSSIBLE.

  8. I live so close to there that I rarely go in anymore. BPS either. Sounds like there are some morons working there though. Whenever I get asked if I need help I always say NO!

  11. I remember when I was a little kid My dad let me hold the weed wacker and do some wacking as long as he was nearby. ... Well as soon as I took control of that weed wacker I lost control. I pulled the throttle and the torque from it swung the business end back toward my dad and I weed wacked a good portion of hair and skin off the inside of his calf. After that I wasn't allowed to use the lawn equipment for some years later

  13. I'm going to speculate that many of those knocking on Chief and Joseph are old and never worked out in their life. 300-500 pushups/pullups a week is very obtainable. I use to do 50 push ups non-stop each time I want a real workout. My max was 78 and I consider myself to be average. My friend who use to fight in martial art competitions competitively use to do 100 push ups in one set. Of course that was when I was in my teens and my 20's. Can't do that now as I haven't been back at the gym regularly in almost 2 years but I'll probably take me a couple of months of serious gym time to get back to the level chief described. The pulls ups would give me trouble as I could never do more than 20 at a time and right now, I have a tough time squeezing out 8 a set. Still, if I did 3 sets of 8 a day once in the morning, then another in the evening, that's 48 in one day. 7 days, that's 336. And that's at me right now in my worst shape. Note: I know this is a bad comparison but I also have a friend who has is currently locked up. He does 200 pull ups (5 sets of 20 wide grip and 5 sets of 20 close grip) each and every day and that's not even his work out. He hits the weight room when he wants to work out.

  18. A KMZ file is a overlay file which Google Earth will open. Start Google Earth go to file, open, go to where you downloaded the file click on it. It will overlay the info onto the globe. As far as hunting on Long Island, Nassau is very very difficult but in Suffolk you can fare better except the season on Long Island doesn't start until October except for a tiny park way out east called Napeague State Park which as far as I can tell is squirrless but Bunnyful! Hunting with an air rifle now that it is legal seems to be the way to go, but then I'm not a bow hunter. Good Luck!

Ship by UPS or First Class mail only. No refund on insurance charges or service fees charged by independent mailing services. Be sure the tail is straight before drying. Tails that dry in a curled position cannot be used. Keep tails away from flies. Best storage is in a freezer. Do not send tails that have been exposed to flies. Do not put tails in a plastic bag for storage or shipment. They could heat up and spoil. 28. Ciao, Just a thought: I don't know Tug Hill, but since you live in Putnam and want small game why not hunt Cranberry Mt. They stock pheasants, and there's some small game including turkey... Aside from pheasants,I've shot some squirrels and even a grouse there. The only problem is that it can get crowded and at times all of the assigned parking spots are taken.(There is limited access) It only happened to me once, but it can happen, then you''ll need backup spots. I never went on a weekend.

  29. Well I have 5 different groups on 274 acres. Its all about habitat (cover and food) . Some home ranges just touch a few acres of the property, some are completely on it it seems. I get more 1.5 Year olds on as we target the doe with button bucks ..no mom to chase them off so the only home the know is what mom showed them.

  33. IMO with the speeds of the new bows going with a heavier draw weight if you plan on just hunting wht tail or even blk bear isn't worth screwing up your shoulder or having a difficult time drawing should "buck fever" start to get the best of you...that happens to ppl more than one might think...or anyone admits...I'm shooting 49#'s and having clean pass through s at 38 yrds...

  37. Bicyclists have the same rights to the road as vehicles and they are supposed to abide by the same traffic rules . Maybe folks should look in the Traffic Rules Book and refresh their minds to "hand singnals" . 3 abreast is a no-no and when traffic is approaching from the rear I believe the bikers are supposed to ride single file . Doc ---- Are you trying to steal the Curmudgeon Title from me ?

  39. Shipping ? I assume that you provide squirrels to someone who likes to eat them ? Cool...They are excellent..I usually shoot between 30 and 40 per season and I LOVE to eat the little rodents..I devour most of them myself. I have a T-Shirt that reads... SQUIRREL.. The OTHER White Meat ...<<grin>>..
