  1. God speed for Sir Oz's journey. When your time comes, he will be there waiting for another hunt . It's always so hard to let them go.

  3. Hunters Creek park in Marilla, NY is awesome for mountain biking. It will severely kick your a$$ if you ride it hard. Oh wait, there's no easy riding there .

  4. Let me be the first to speak up. I'm sure some of the old timers here will remember this picture. It's a picture of me and my buddy Doewhacker from a few years back. We shot this buck on First-lights property. We trespassed on his land the weekend he wasn't up there. We are immigrants from Tanzania, and eventhough our own family members were not in this country when slavery was legal we still are VERY offended by the confederate flag. Maybe now the thread could officially be put to bed.

  5. Is anyone interested in a "Gun Dog" forum? I cannot find anything on this site. It could cover all aspects from puppies through full training, food and health issues, bird dogs, water dogs, tracking dogs, training tips and equipment reviews/opinions, etc. I would really like to be able to communicate with local NY dog owners and trainers as NY has such a diverse environment and use of hunting dogs.

  6. ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ Is Racist, But Rappers Rocking Confederate Flag Is ‘Art’ http://thehayride.com/2015/07/liberal-logic-dukes-of-hazzard-is-racist-but-rappers-rocking-confederate-flag-is-art/ Racist bigots in action! In the Daily Beast article, the author desperately tries to defend these rappers’ use of the Confederate. When these rappers wear the Confederate Flag, it’s simply fashion. But, God forbid TV Land play a 1970’s hit classic where characters celebrated their Confederate ancestry. To the media and the cultural Left, that’s not fashionable, that’s just racist. Notice how all the cool kids in Hollywood like Kanye West and Andre 3000 will never be questioned for their Confederacy clothing. That’s because the media and the cultural Left does not mess with the cool kids, they just pick on those who don’t entirely align to their ideology. However, if big business is trying to rid their products of racism, Target and Wal-Mart should stop the sale of every single Kanye West, Andre 3000, Lil John and Ludacris album. It’s only fair.

  10. Her's to the OP and the reason for the thread, I am half non-white and dont give half a $hit about any flag. I do not see how someone can point out a few things and be called a racist. Being half spanish I hate some of the spanish people more then any white racist you have ever met. They bring a bad name to an entire group of people...call it what ever the hell you want but its true. I have black friends that most of you would consider more racist then the people on this site against a large portion of the black community. Its funny that calling a spade a spade is now "RACIST"

  11. Actually, I am surprised that we don't have a pack of liberals here talking about the flag display simply being an exhibit of free speech. When I think of all the ridiculous items and images and acts that have been defended by the left purely on the basis of free-speech, (offense be damned) it seems that the defense of the confederate flag would be a natural for them if they are to maintain any credibility. Where is our dyed-in-the-wool leftists on all this?

Saw enough turkeys on my property this year,Had a nice Tom , strutting and doing his thing all hunting season long,I hope he found a mate,Females would be walking around about a 1/2 hour before he would show up.Still have them walking all around the place every day. Had no desire to shoot any this year.I have enough feathers for fletching and tying flies .

  17. Fine fine beast. I wouldnt bow to the troll though. We have nothing to prove to that little man. It's just bluff and bluster from someone who can't formulate a good point of view. He is essentially sticking out his wheezy little chest now.

  20. Oops, Yes South Wales. Daughter and I hike there from time to time. We enjoy lifting rocks in the small run offs and looking for salamanders. Seen many a turkey and deer about. Normally we run into very few people as well.

  21. You're doing the right thing and not let him suffer do to your own selfishness. My wife is a vet and sees this way too often. It was the worst 20 minutes of my life driving our prior golden retriever to be put down knowing Mulligan wasn't coming home with me. Pets are family and deepest sorry for your loss. Remember all the great times ,the hunts and he'll be waiting for you for the next big hunt in the sky.

  22. Hunters Creek trail park is the one I ride in, but it's actually in South Wales. It gets pretty hairy up near the Centerline Rd end along the creek before the bridge. Heading down towards Rt. 78 is a leisurely ride winding up and down the ridges. Great place to just tie the bike to a tree and hike around for the day if you got nothing better to do. Don't forget the camera..... lots of critters running around in there too. Lots of room to roam and no hunting make it a great outdoors escape for anyone just outside of the Buffalo area. Very clean and quiet country setting as well!

  26. It's also odd I'm not seeing birds at all. Since end of season, farmers have plowed and tilled fields. No birds are out dusting or picking bugs. No chicks is not a good sign Grow. That's my concern. Have buddies taking road trips and not seeing anything either. Little worried here. I say nix the fall season and go to one Spring bird for a few years and hope the population spikes. I've said before " Deer hunting fills my freezer but turkey hunting fills my heart".

  28. Humans are way more likely to be dangerous to hunting that any natural causation. The chances of a colony-collapse-esque issue from a natural genesis as it relates to deer is minor compared to anything us idiots can accomplish.

  31. I just got back yesterday and went back to work the very next day. Haven't uploaded all the pics yet. Europe has never been my thing. Always preferred exotic locations or adventurous types of trips. Example, my picks for this year were India, Morocco, or Cuba in that order of preference but the wife was all like "Why do we always go where you want to go, blah, blah, blah, we haven't been to Europe, I want to go to Europe...". We considered Spain/Portugal, a drive through northern France, Italy, but ultimately settle with Budapest>Vienna>Prague. Budapest was okay. It's small, a bit run down, and has a bit of the old communism feel where some buildings are falling apart and people general look poor. Still, the people are super friendly and humble. They have a ton of thermal baths there so we went to one of them and got a full spa treatment. Got to keep the wife happy. The Szechenyi Baths is the highlight Budapest. Vienna was really nice. The city was clean and super stroller friendly (designated stroller spots on public transportation, etc.). The Schonbrunn Palace was the highlight of Vienna. It was the emperor's private hunting ground/summer palace. It is sickening and yet fascinating to see how filthy rich these people use to be. The problem with Vienna was that people were a bit rude. I now see how tourist view New Yorkers. It was like they were trying to get to work/class and we were in their way. Prague was simply thee most beautiful city of the three. You really feel like you're back in the 16th century walking around Prague. The problem with Prague is that it has become such a tourist attraction, it is flooded with tourist to the point that it became hard to enjoy the sights. There was also a bunch of beggars there that you didn't see in the other two cities. Oddly, a bunch of those beggars looked like American student backpackers. Highlight of Prague for us was the Golden Lane in Prague Castle. It's a street in the Castle grounds that was perfectly preserved from years ago and you can enter the house, go up their stairs, etc. At the very end of the Golden Lane is the prison tower with torture chamber and everything. One common theme amongst the three cities is that we got a bunch of stares. It doesn't appear that they've ever seen an Asian with a Hispanic before which made them even more curious as to what our son looks like. This being the first trip that we were comfortable enough taking our son out of the country, I don't have other places to compare it with. I will post pics as soon as I have time.
