The plan was to hunt to 9:00 then for Joe and I to put a new rather large ladder stand as Joe had be leave by 10:30 and I needed help putting it up. Joe went into the thick stuff and saw 4 bucks and 1 doe, while I saw nothing..... Then this guy crossed a large field and entered the woods I'd say 100 west of me around 8:45 or so. A bit later I saw antlers heading my way, I stood up,with bow ready he's coming straight towards me , he passes and at less then ten yards I shoot. Rear quartering but I hit high! No pass through either, he ran a bit than walked off, I heard one snap. 30 minutes later I thought I'd check the blood but figured I'd be coming back in 6 hours to look. Blood was very good an easy track he went about 100 yards. 6 pt, no brow tines. I know not a nice woods picture but I got a kick out of this picture !17 points

a few weeksago there was a topic started on vacation. I posted when I was taking my vacation and gman sent me a pm inviting me to hunt with him at his place. we met up on Wednesday did some hanging out chatting and he showed me around his property. his place is top notch the time that he has spent doing the trails and maintaining them and the number of stand locations and how hes done each set is amazing. I didn't see any deer but it was 70 plus degrees out his neighbor did take an exceptional buck and unfortunately gman found a beautiful 10 poached I sure hope they catch the guy. also gman cooked one hell of a tenderloin. I can't wait to get back out. thank you I had a great time4 points

I set a camera up on a scrape next to one of my stands a couple days before Halloween. I didn't get to hunt this spot much this year since I killed a buck on 10/2. In particular, I was hoping to get some good pics of a big 9-pt with a crabclaw that I'd gotten pics of a few weeks before. Well, I finally made it up to check it this morning: ended up get a couple of pics of the 9-pt passing through... I was really excited to see this big ole droptine bruiser. In the first pic he is 15 yds from my stand. I'd love to see him a couple of weekends from now... Also had a few two year olds, some does, a few yearling bucks and too many coyotes...3 points

Scored this nice buck on 11/1/15 While hunting with my brothers in Rock Hill. He was chasing a doe and came straight at me. When he got to 13 yds I drew down on him with my Bowtech Destroyer and sent my Rage tipped Easton Flatline at him. He dropped a few yards away.3 points

. If that much damage was done from the fall it's probably best he got a new sight 15 ft I would hope he had someone check his limbs.....2 points

Thank you.....Like chiefBKT said they do not charge but do take a donation for the club. That obviously is up to the person on what they think they should give....We gave them $150 which I think is an appropriate/good donation. I am also going to stay in contact with Bob and see about becoming a member to help support them even though we are from PA. Sure do wish Pa would get their act together and let dogs do some tracking. Like I said it was a great experience and would use them again if needed.2 points

good luck I wont be headed out until monday but hoping for the same blood on the ground2 points

Straight from the cervix of a doe in her 58-63 hour breeding cycle. Doe in heat lure may have very little of this fluid in the mix because it is mixed with urine. If she is in true heat. Most is a shot in the dark and much of the urine sold is just that, Urine. A younger buck will react to about any urine but for a mature buck to pay any attention to it you better think Pheromone's!2 points

Wait a year or two and they will probably put muzzle loaders in the archery season . It will give you more range than a cross bow .2 points

Ok we've again established that it is a somewhat ugly gun that some feel performs well and we also learned about the Mini 14 which I don't have a clue what it is, but that's just me. And we all know the Fuhrer has screwed us NYers royally without vaseline in doing away with all the fun bells and whistles on an AR-15. So any other alternatives for a semi i can use at the range and perhaps for yote hunting this winter? I am already set for deer hunting with my Remy 710 in 30-06 and my son's Savage .270 both of which are as Marisa Tomei once said "Dead on balls accurate". Thanks, DT2 points

So, bit of a surprising result this evening. I came home a little early from work and despite the ridiculous temps, I decided to sit for the remaining 40 minutes of shooting light.I am going away for the weekend so I didn't wanna waste any opportunity to try and get Big-Boy. It is dry, a dead calm.Almost no breeze. I'm thinking, as I crunch my way to the stand, that this is gonna be a waste of time, but it's already almost 4:30, so I won't be out there long.Sunset is a little after 5 in my zone. I sit in the stand.2 or 3 squirrels are tearing it up in the dry leaves, making a decent racket. 10 minutes after my butt touches seat I hear a more regular version of leaf crunching. Something is coming my way. It's getting louder and louder. I can tell its close but I can't see a fricken thing between all the sapling trunks.Maybe it's my neighbor going for a walk I wonder? No self respecting Deer will be out in this crap, surely? Then I see him and for one fraction of a second I think it might be the Big 10. I see a decent amount of bone. After a couple of seconds I realize it is not the monster 10, but he looks a decent 8 and I have put in enough hours this last month to take the shot and reward my patience. He has read the playbook and is coming right toward the pinch point made by some fallen trees. I line my sight up right over the spot he is going to hit. As soon as his shoulders pass under the pin I let one fly. He drops like a sack of potatoes. My shot was a touch high and I have spine shot him unfortunately. It was a clean pass through, I haven't yet recovered the arrow. So he is down but not out, he crashes about behind this lump of dead tree tops. I cannot see him for a kill shot. I have to jump down and run around to get to the other side of the brush-pile. At about 15 yards I put another arrow right into the boiler room and it is over. This is the stand I was surrounded by coyotes in, so I rush back, get a 4 wheeler and the wife with a shotgun to cover me while I do the business of dressing him. I had no camera, so the photos are after dark and by the house. I cut my finger up nicely in my haste to get him gutted given the warm evening temps. I just missed the processors, so he is in the basement full of Ice packs for now.Have to wait till morning to get him to the butchers.2 points

Well the warm temps had me questioning going out today in Suffolk county, nailed a nice doe at 7:30, decided to hang out a little longer, well mr big comes walking in 30 min later, and I took my best buck with a bow to date, 8 ptr with one tine snapped off.2 points

Well I wasn't overly confident with the high winds this afternoon. I had only seen a small buck and was getting pretty bored. Then I hear noise behind me to the right. I quickly see he's a shooter, grab my bow and stand up. At this point he's maybe 12yrds from the stand. He hears the stand make alittle noise when I stand up, he looks around for a second and takes a couple steps and I grunt to stop him and get it fly. He went maybe 70yrds.2 points

I just got a picture of a good sized doe walking past the stand my dad shot over the huge buck ,let's see if anything comes through following her. This is from my cellular cam so I'll update this post if I get anything.1 point

I have a Barnett Raptor, $350 or so. Got bad shoulders, so when they passed the law, I went and bought it. Didn't want to drop a lot of money if I could only use it a couple weeks. And I wasn't sure if I would even like it. Well, I do like it. Not love it. And it is fun to shoot, and very accurate out to my hunting range of 30 yards. But the scope that came with it is garbage. It is very loud and the plastic bolt retaining spring broke the first time I shot it, a Barnett thing. So perhaps after full inclusion I will upgrade. But for now it is ok, and I will be hunting with it the next few days. Hoping to kill a deer.1 point
