  1. So what else would you expect me to do but make an antler lamp, lol Just need to wire it up and I'd like to make my own rawhide shade for it if I can find some skin.

  2. It's a private website visited voluntarily. It's not censorship if the site doesn't allow it. The site doesn't allow swearing. That's censorship. This is my preface to "the first amendment". This is the only site I've ever been on that allows political posts to the level that we have them. While some are entertaining and create a good debate, the shear volume have started to drown out the actual hunting part of this site. They are not filtered like some have been lead to believe, they show up in everyone's feed either online or via tapatalk. Sure, I don't have to click them and mostly I don't. But I feel ashamed sometimes to be a part of such fear mongering and ignorant hate. I don't believe it does anything to further the site and promote hunting or attract new members. I personally have taken time away because of the level it gets too. I always come back because I enjoy the hunting discussions. A few topics a week wouldn't hurt anyone, or even one topic dedicated to all things political that can be several hundred pages long. who cares, it's just one thread. but several an hour just goes to far. I can visit any of the thousands of other political forums on the internet if I wanted to talk about Muslims and Hillary Clinton.

  3. 16 pages in the beer thread and not even the hint of an argument yet. Not sure what's going on with the rest of the site.

  4. I'm fairly new to this forum so my opinion may not mean as much but I think there should be more "censorship" on the forum. Not because I am offended by anything, I'm really thick skinned. I honestly just find it annoying the amount of heat some of these threads receive. it's not just political threads, those will inevitably turn bad. Sometimes it's amazing how quick a lot of regular hunting threads get jacked and derailed. I joined here because I wanted another outlet for hunting information and to be able to trade information with people and try to help out the newer hunters. I'm part of the FoxPro forums and the QDMA forums, plus I've raced ATV's for 7 years so I have been apart of a few racing forums; and I have never been on a forum with so much bickering, attacks, and nonsense than this one. Some days I can't figure out if I'm on Facebook or this forum....

  5. When we all signed into this site, we all agreed to abide by the set rules of this site. I don't consider it censorship if you break those set rules and are reprimanded or banned by the administration. A little common sense and common courtesy go a long way to make the site, more enjoyable for the vast amount of members. Sometimes we can just agree to disagree , and leave it at that. JMO

  6. My wife mentioned she wanted to watch the Broadway play "Kinky Boots". When I noticed that Wayne Brady is staring in the show and this is his last week I figured I had to get the best seats regardless of cost. Wayne Brady wasn't cheap but he was worth it. His performance made the whole show. He was outstanding. When then met him after the show and he waited out in the freezing cold to take pictures with anyone who was willing to wait for him. 8. Geeze, I must have have missed a whole bunch of stuff... Of course, I am just a semi-senile old fart.. I just get on here because I like to talk hunting and I also enjoy having a few laughs now and then.

  9. Use to be, I would browse through 3 or 4 threads to find 2 I would like to read. Now I have to scroll through 8 to 10 just to find a couple worth reading. Even at that, many of them I stop reading after the first few pages because at that stage, the point, idea, or message has already been delivered and the derailment and bickering begins.

  10. I can't imagine how any American firearm owner, or hunter, doesn't know who Scalia was. The man was the biggest defender and supporter of firearms and hunting this country has ever known. If you are clueless, you owe it to the man to look him up and find out who he was.

  11. honestly vjp, if you, uptownredneck and papist stopped posting anything political and stuck to guns and hunting the site would be a much nicer place. I said it, and I'll stand by it.

  13. I bought some roses and made dinner for the new squeeze, candle lit and the whole 9. After that we headed out to see Deadpool (her pick for the movie), which was great. That was about it. as neither of us are that into the greeting card holiday to begin with. She would rather spend money on Jeep parts or guns than a high priced dinner, etc. I think I need to keep this one around for a while lol.

  14. Lucky money is lucky to the receiver, but not so lucky to the giver. I guess you can say that applies to most cases of money transfer. In our culture, a person of marital status is expected to give money in a red envelope to others, usually family and kids. We call this lucky money. This usually happens on long journeys, birthdays, and of course, the festive lunar new year. The Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday in Chinese culture and is generally celebrated by taking off in excess of 2 weeks, sometimes months. Along with lion dances, fireworks, lucky money is woven into the tradition of the Lunar New Year for the Chinese. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

  16. I would not even though I have a vested interest. Where do you draw the line? Meals on wheels? Give them a free license. Pro bono legal work? Free licenses. What about doctors that volunteer? Free licenses. Hey what about tax payers? Oh wait. Enough with the free crap already. If volunteering isnt worth your time don't do it.

  17. Look at the lack of responses. That should tell you a lot. No one cares. That is how our rights keep getting peeled away. It is either the cvlown patrol or the I don't care crowd. So sad.

  19. I have wanted to try and make Jerky for a long time. I am not at all a cook so I was scared to try. Well since I couldn't snowmobile this weekend and I wasn't doing anything I figured I would give it a shot. I borrowed a friends dehydrator and found a recipe for sweet and spicy jerky. I had my wife pick up what was need at the store. On Saturday I thawed 4 steaks out and cut them in as long of strips as possible about a 1/4 inch thick. I made the marinade and let them sit in it overnight. Yesterday I fired up the dehydrator and about 5 hours later I had some really good jerky. I was really impressed with how it came out. Anybody else have some good jerky recipes. Those 4 steaks worth aren't going to last very long. My daughter thought it was really good as well. My daughter asked if I could make BBQ jerky....

  20. Gun owners in this country aren't completely screwed yet, but we are bent over with our pants around our ankles. It's going to take a concerted effort to prevent the final act, and the willful ignorance around this site with regard to the importance of politics floors me. I have a friend in Australia who's a rancher. The only way he was allowed by the government to keep his guns was that he could prove they were necessary to support his way of life as a rancher. Recreational hunting is not considered a "need" in Australia and the citizens have been disarmed. This is the model of "common sense gun control" being held forth by much of the Left in the US.

  30. This is just my personal opinion but I hate to see censorship thrown around haphazardly. Not saying that you would do that fasteddie... just saying if it is used it shouldn't be a little here and a little there. For the most part I think we are adults and should be able to have mature conversations even if they from time to time come to heated disagreements. What I hate more than censorship is personal attacks. You can disagree with people and think they are useless human beings that don't deserve to live... that doesn't mean you need to express it. The first amendment gives you the right to say nearly anything, but it doesn't absolve you of the responsibility of your words.

  37. Strict guidelines with oversight. That sounds great. More bureaucracy and cost. If a community wants to give gifts to volunteers then let them do it on their own. Keep the government the hell out of things. This bill shouldn't even have gone from pen to paper.

  41. It will only cause every bozo to want to be a volunteer. I could see it for anyone after 10 years of service. But, it will never get out of committee. They tried it for volunteer hunter ed instructors a few years ago and it never got off the ground. If you need to be bribed to volunteer, you are not interested in the first place.

  48. All the more reason to elect anyone but Bernie and Hillary. She said she would appoint Obama. Only chance we have is neither of them. But we could not even get rid of Cuomo when be strippdusofour rights. If this does not light a fire, nothing will. But of course no one wants to see the political posts and possibly learn something. End of rant.
