Had to share my excitement. Ordered exactly what I wanted from black widow and she shoots as good as she looks. So happy with it. The deer should be afraid, very afraid. Lol And not too shabby for a 58" hunting bow:9 points

Saving the knapping for when the Atlatl is legal - should be included in the crossbow bill. I do have some new wicked sharp German steel for BHs though. Looking forward to trying them this year.3 points

And to,make matters worse yesterday , I bought 4 , 6 foot X 12 inch pine boards , as I,left the check out and put them on my shoulder, the girl asked if ," I got that alright? " Wth I told her I could put her on my shoulder and do squats , I guess I'm getting old and grumpy !3 points

not bears, but still neat. this family became quite tame in and around camp.. As i ran the tiller, mower or brush hog or anything theyd come out and just watch me everytime. when i got off they'd actually walk to within 20' or so.. until people started shooting them on drive bys3 points

This picture is from 3-4 years ago and is poor flip-phone quality. We had been seeing a Bear and her three cubs for about a year. Mommy kicked her cubs loose (I think it was mid-May) in the woods behind our house. They got pretty interested in our chicken coop until I yelled at them to go play somewhere else. There is a third cub behind the coop when the pic was taken. The two ran off quickly, but the third just scrambled about 150 yds back. We heard it crying and bawling in those woods for a day and a half. Poor thing missed it's Mommy. I felt sad for him or her. It did move off by late the next day. I'm glad I over-built the coop and pen!3 points

If sitting in a blind with a camera, a 6pck, and an e-cigarette counts.... then yes, I'll be "scouting" Saturday!2 points

I would think you're losing a lot of the neck area to aim at as well, especially at close range......shoot high and he gets a full load in the back and shoot low and either hit breast or miss completely and get ground, sitting at their level gives you a little leeway as far as that goes.2 points

I once had a bear with two cubs climb down out of a tree and start galloping right towards me and a friend. She didn't know we were there until she got to about 20 yards away and we started making noise and yelling. She stopped, stood up and I thought o boy this is it. She got back down on all fours, turned and went quickly in the opposite direction. Good thing we alerted her before she passed us with her cubs on the other side of us. This was about 15 years ago while geocaching at the Wesley Hill nature preserve near Cummings nature center.2 points

When I look for a lawyer I look for one that has a T.V. show. Thats how you know that they're serious about practicing law. Last time I had a problem, I used Judge Mathis. He got my speeding ticket reduced to a simple assault. Im out in two more weeks!!!!2 points

Went out for a scout in the refuge on Saturday , only one bird gobbling , but boy he was a talker , saw him fly down alone a couple hundred yds off , worked his way right past me a 20 yds ... Heard two shots a little ways away n he gobbled at both ... must have gobbled 50 or so times... Just a lonely two year old ... Too bad my permit for that land is second half of season ... Nada. Youth hunting last Saturday, no action. Sunday we had 2 birds at 200 yards displaying for 45 minutes but couldn't coax them in any closer. Tipped over 13 birds from my tree. Hoping for the best. Perhaps a double for daughter and I. That's my hunting fantasy at least. I'd give anything for that double though1 point

I've had a couple of small ones forever on my peripheral vision, but developed a larger one in my direct vision about 2 years ago. Eye Doc in late 2014 said there wasn't much that could be done with them, and that they were barely noticeable to her. it has gotten worse so I'll bring it up at my checkup next month. At least it's in my left eye so it doesn't bug me looking thorough a scope. But it's annoying while driving on a sunny day with a blue sky background.1 point

If I had a tom showing up EVERY SINGLE day around the same time on my cam, on opening day I would hunt right around that camera and probably not call much. The only thing I would be worried about is it being opening day, if there are other hunters close by, they could pull him off his daily route. But then again, so can a hen......1 point

I'll roost sat evening. Though I'm sure they will be in their normal roost areas. I can narrow it down to 50 yards or so roosting the night before instead of 100 to 150 yards.1 point

awesome.... I've tried looking for them used for a couple years. finally gave up. they seemed to hold their value more than I was willing to pay. might as well have bought a new one. shot multiple bows from them and seems along side any production bow they really spit the arrows out in a hurry for a trad bow. unless a widow is tuned way out of its sweet spot for brace height then they're deathly silent too. worth the money if you're willing to spend that much as are many other custom bows. almost feel like Pygmy looking at a classic high grade gun. thing's a gorgeous work of art. like the limbs. seems like most windows widows! I've seen are just black.1 point

I was thinking about that the other day while working on my food plot. The couple things that concern me are: 1) being spotted by a bird on the roost while you climb into your stand 2) sounding like you are on the roost while calling, instead of sounding like you are on the ground 3) When taking the shot, you're aiming down at the bird. I believe it would cause you to put many more pellets into the body and breast meat1 point

That is awesome! I have got a couple trail cam photos of a mam bear in the background and 2 or 3 cubs jacking up my trail cam. they ended up breaking the strap and the bracket holding it around the tree and dragging it several yards from the tree.. Wish i could find the pics. I have put out several cams to catch coyote pups, fox pups fawns you name it. I saw 5 or 6 fox pups playing around a puddle of water on a tractor path the other day right off the road on the southern tier expressway. Also saw a dead newborn fawn and its mother on the side of the road hit by a car.. I enjoy capturing these newborn critters in there natural environment.. that's probably why i own 12 trail cameras lol .. this stuffs addicting!!1 point

The target was shot at 20yds. And that is better than a typical 5 arrow group for me, as you can see from the other holes on the target.1 point

With the camera of course, lol I made some adjustments to my blind set up last night to put me in a better position for some better pics this morning. The first gobble rattled off at 6:19am before a few hens showed up a little while later. Eventually, these three jakes made their way in front of the blind and spotted my "fake jake". I couldn't get out of the blind until 12:09 when they FINALLY made it to the far corner of the field and into the timber! No longbeards today, but no shortage of fun and excitement behind the camera either!1 point

The thing I love the most about Robin's posts it is really hunting. No cams, no food plots, just a hunter, the woods, and a will to be in nature. I read his posts and look at the pics and vids, and I get pumped to be in the woods. Be it camping, hunting, hiking, or w/e.1 point

You got to try the tent chair blind if your hunting with a kid.. you just sit in it and pull the cover over you.. it comes in a double chair or single chair.. Ive had several youth shoot there first bird from one of these including my daughter whom cant sit still for nothing.lol.. They are really light and portable for moving around.. I use one of the single chairs for deer hunting in the back woods its not very roomy but it keeps you out of the elements and a bit warmer during long sits. I hunt turkey with a TC super 14" .410 and i need to get the bird within 10 yrds or so and this is the blind that really works well for me.. If you havnt hunted turkey from a blind just because you like to move around and you think the blind will slow you down try one of these double chair blinds .. Good luck ..Ron http://www.cabelas.com/ensemble/Ameristep-One-Man-and-Deluxe-Two-Man-Chair-Blinds/7018.uts1 point
