Visited the peregrines this morning after getting back from a week of vacation and found that two young falcons have successfully fledged. Here's a few shots from today and some other recent photos.6 points

I hope all are following what is happening in Orlando.. It boils my blood to see such things take place on American soil. I hope all realize the significance and reality of what is taking place in the United States. I urge all to stay vigilant and if possible, armed. This isn't a post to get everyone riled up, but everyone should come to the realization that this could take place literally anywhere. These people are amongst us. I'm sick of seeing Americans die at the hands of these scum bags. This will all quiet down in a couple weeks and everyone will go back to their normal lives until the next attack. It may not happen in your neck of the woods, but if it does, you need to be prepared. God Bless America.5 points

When the farmer I lease to was here working the fields, I asked him to work up an acre for me in the duck pond field. He hit it with his chisel plow, then with the discs. He saved me lots of time and fuel! I'm going to put brassicas in there. Also, I worked up a strip in front of this plot and another to plant Egyptian wheat and sorghum to act as a screen to allow me to get in and out undetected. Screen for new plot Screen for old plot2 points

I have had beagles since I was a young boy and I currently have 3 beagles. All of my dogs have been and are rabbit dogs. Bones looks to me to be a muscular dog and does not appear to be overweight as his belly does not appear to be sagging at all in the photo where he is sitting. I would just feed him the correct amount of dog food for his present weight and when you run him in the fall, I'm sure he will be just fine. Just be careful with giving him treats and do not feed him table scraps. Beagles are known gluttons and will eat as much as you give them. He looks to me to have good potential as a hunter. Don't worry about field trials- what counts is the great days you have hunting with them. Those days are priceless.2 points

Field trial washouts often become the best gun dogs. Besides, unless the previous owner trained and hunted everyday, five years old is relatively young to put a dog in with other dogs who have hunted daily. If the dog was (truly) 8 pounds overweight, I doubt he was hunted every day. If he puts rabbits in the frying pan is all that counts. If he wins trials all you get is a ribbon or trophy or a small purse, and maybe a title. Can't eat trophies.1 point

Real dry here. The rocks seem to come to the top, even on mild winters. I am cutting hay this week, then work the ground up for the pumpkins and radish. I noticed something jumping up in one corner of the wheat field, other day. I parked my belonging for a few to find out. Turned out to be a hen with 5 poults jumping to get at the kernels off the heads. Size of a soft ball already. Sure glad to see that.1 point

No problem . No apology necessary . I have a lot to do this am and got frustrated spending so much time deleting the Spams and then came on this Topic . My Passive - Aggressiveness popped out ! Also , a bit of senility ........ The Spammers must have a sophisticated means to put in so many messages ! No doubt a few more will pop to the top when I leave and will eventually be deleted . So , get your Fake ID's / Passports before the posts are gone .1 point

Your attachment and devotion to the establishment of the nanny state is duly noted, Buzz. I will soon revel in your irrelevance as American citizens take the reins once again.1 point

Do you guys really feel it reflects on ALL hunters? I feel it only reflects upon the person that posted it. I agree the comment was a bit crass, and that really only reflects badly (to some) on the person that posted it.1 point
