I had a pedestal mount done this year. Every one that sees it says the next mount they get done will be the same. I love it and your mount looks great nice deer.5 points

This only lasted a minute last night from the observation stand. The sunsets here glow spectacular-iilly if you catch them at the right time! It literally painted the forest orange, and was pretty amazing to see! Unfortunately buck sightings were limited to two punks the entire night. Would have loved to have caught one in this light!4 points

This year I did a bit more clearing of mid size trees and left the top of my land unmowed in hopes of helping to provide some nesting habitat for Woodcock. The woodcock did nest and hatch and today on the way to my neighbors pond we came upon three separate Gouse hens with a whole bunch of hatchlings! All within a short ten minute walk, good thing my dogs are all trained and obedient because it surprised my son and I to see them. We leashed them up quickly and made it to the pond for some training. That is the first time I have seen Grouse that small and that many, I would guess there to have been somewhere near 30 young chicks, just old enough to fly. It has been so rewarding to have small changes work out, first the Woodcock and now the Grouse. All in my back yard!3 points

My beer glasses consist of 4 Slipknot, 4 Avenged Sevenfold, 3 Robs Tavern, 1 Long Trail, and the Stella pretty glass I just bought. I will be buying a few Bills glasses, to go with the mix. But no, no teams that play in Jersey and call themselves NY. I will admit, I would rather drink a beer from a Jets glass then Giants glass.3 points

Ben Franklin had it right, and in these days of terrorist activities and the temptation to scrap the Constitution as we run around in circles, panicked, and desperate for governmental protections, we would do well not to forget his words: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."2 points

That's fox season. Yote season has been Oct 1st through til the end of March for at least 5-10 years.Fact of the matter is why not carry. I too doubt you'd ever need it , but stranger things have happened. I'm lucky to have never tangled with a yote since I call them at night and have had them sneak in to literally 10yds behind me. My brother on the other hand did tangle with one a couple years ago after he shot it but it was just stunned. He got bit up on his arms but finally knifed it in the chest. He said they are stupid fast. Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk2 points

For crying out loud . This got blown way out of proportion ! I am not going to hunt any coyotes or go looking for them . I take it that someone thinks I shouldn't have cameras to be checked in an area where coyote / coyotes have been spotted . I don't check them at night . So , I guess the same would hold true when deer hunting . Don't take a chance by bow hunting the first 3 weeks of bow season in an area where yotes have been spotted . Coyote season was Oct 25 to Feb 15 this past season . Get real ! I will carry my gun in case there is a need for it . I doubt that I will have the need but I will still carry it . And I have no intention of plinking cans while walking through the woods / fields to check cameras . Gee , why carry a concealed weapon at all ? Just stay away from any area that might be a potential danger . That's rich !2 points

My uncle Paul would bring a length of 2x4 ice fishing, he'd toss it up and let it land on the ice to "wake em up"2 points

I think seeing them while being elbow deep in a deer carcass would be more natural than a coyote trying to prevent anyone from checking their cams, lol To me, that just sounds like an excuse to ignore season dates and take a crack at any opportunity that presents itself so why not just come right out and say it the way FSW does. At least he doesn't try to sugar coat it. If you're approached by a pack during deer season then by all means light 'em up if it's that threatening. Season is open then and you're likely already armed to begin with. Day or night fire away! Like I said, the odds of this yote standing guard over Eddies cams during daylight is slim to none anyhow. It's good for storytelling to create more fear mongering about the "ferocious coyote" is about all it really is.2 points

Understood! If mine didn't get trashed I wouldn't be doing it. We have a complete tear off (three roofs on now) roofing event happening in the next week or so and those babies don't come cheap..............1 point

If I head out to check cameras or scout new areas I usually don't pack any weapon. If my girls are with me in the woods I do. Years ago in the Finger lakes you didn't see many bear. Today is a different story. Same goes for the coyotes. It is just going to take one crazy animal that gets startled to cause a problem and I what to be on the winning. end. Now that doesn't mean I will take pot shots at yotes any time of the year. It will have to come down to a real dire situation for me to fire the gun. I understand your logic Wooly but I think its a bit of a stretch if we go into the woods packing though.1 point
-
I still don't see where you are making the connection between packing for self defense and illegal poaching activity. Why are you trying to do that? Of course you can come on here and malign anyone you want, but when it is done for no reason, I think you can expect a little bit of flack for it.1 point

I take precautions when heading out into tick infested areas to try to avoid encounters with Lyme disease bearing ticks. That's got nothing to do with any kind of "muscles". It just seems to make sense. If people want to use the same notion of preventative defense by being armed against any potential danger, I have no problem with that. And I don't call that kind of thinking "looking for trouble". Why would you assume that?1 point

So, let me get this straight. Both grow and Law had ants in their pants..... I guess ants gets around.1 point
