  1. Yesterday...I shop at Tops and save those gas points as long as I can... Well I got some coupons and double points (also double for gander buying gas) with monopoly points as well...get to pumps and swipe my card...Gas price came up 75.999 cents per gallon...lol I hit the shut off mark but a little at a time squeezed enough out of that nozzle to get me up to 10.00 to fill the tank...I drove in on pretty much fumes...lol I believe I can say that will probably never happen again in my life time....Mr B is going to frame the dated receipt...hahahahaha

  4. I hate when a good joke goes to waste...... put lead in one's pencil Enhance or restore sexual vigor, as in Try one of these hot peppers; that'llput lead in your pencil. This phrase, a euphemism for causing an erection, isconsidered far more vulgar than the contemporary synonym put hair onone's chest, alluding to a secondary male sex characteristic. [; c. 1900 ]

  6. Got tired of quick easy meals over the last week or fast food. I needed some red meat!!!!!! Shell steaks, corn on the cob ( yes, I cook it in foil, I hate charred corn ), and a tomato/mozzarella/red onion salad.

  16. Started the weekend out from the observation stand, I kept seeing this hawk in the distance snatching up snakes from the clover. I forgot about him after a while until he fell out of the sky like a bowling ball right in front of me! His meal slithered away once he layed eyes on me. With the hot weather I thought I'd go see what's swimming around in the crick yesterday. Found that same momma wood duck that got blasted by the hawk a couple weeks ago, but she's down to 3 ducklings now. I'm glad she survived the attack but I sure would have liked to see the hawk eat her! A little further along I found this beaver gnawing on some branches that got washed downstream from the latest storm. I didn't try... but he was so oblivious to me being there that I think I could have scooped him up with my hands, lol At one point he walked right past me about 4 feet away. He finally figured out he was being followed and cooled me off with a flick of his tail before cutting under the creek bank. On my way out I spotted another nose poke out of the water. I'd finally found what I keep coming back here for. My first mud dragon of the year! Hope everyone had as much fun as I had this weekend!

  25. A guy my g/f works with goes to Maine about every other month, he's willing to grab some ammo for me when he gets his. Our stupid laws are so twisted around them selves here in NY it's painful. I could get Hornady ammo for my 26-06 for $20 a box if I could order it, way better then the $50 I paid. Even the Fusions I bought are half what I paid online.

  26. That's exactly it. While I was looking I was actually able to find cheap flights for as low as 150 bucks, so driving isn't 100 percent necessary.

  29. I agree culvert. But I believe they don't care about the criminals that commit crimes with guns. Their goal is to disarm the law abiding citizens. I mean how stupid could they be to think that the new law will be the one that criminals decide to obey. That being said, enough! Don't give an inch on any regulations. At least until the progressive left agrees with the facts and is willing to address this from a sensible position.

  30. I don't ever remember shark week being on in the winter. I have been watching it for as long as I remember. When I was a kid it was on like the last week of August. I was always torn between looking forward to shark week and knowing that when it came summer was over and it was basically back to school.

  35. Remember hold the bow in the crotch between your index finger and tour thumb....don't wrap your fingers around the grip. Also have a slight bend in your elbow when at full draw. If you cant achieve this bend the draw length my be incorrect....pretty sure your bow can be adjusted to .5 inch draw lengths Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  36. I ran manual lathe/mill/surface grinder my first 5 years and then went on to start building plastic injection molds ,used the manuals as well as the haas and 3 axis sinker and learned mastercam along the way to program and design . I was fortunate enough to work in a small job under 2 really smart guys while I was doing my apprenticeship.

  37. I bought a half dozen easton axis a few months ago ,I've had a few blazers fall off and I just had one that the wrap slid back over the nock. I love my hexs but my for next hunting arrow I'm gonna something other then the axis.

  38. I'm old school paranoid about arrow length. I have never and never will draw a razor blade behind my wrist. So I have always shot an inch or so longer then my draw. That's my personal demon, but I have never had an issue. I also prefer a little heft over speed. Always shot 125 grain tips and broad heads. The slight amount of speed I loose is acceptable for a little better kinetic energy at POI. But, this is just the way I do things. Try a few different arrows and broad heads and see what you feel is the best for you.

  39. From a compound with a rest, you are better off being stiff. Weak will not group as well and you don't have to worry about clearing the riser. I would suggest 340 or 350 spine cut to 28.5 or 29. 100 or 125g heads will be fine. I personally like Easton FMJs but axis are good and less money.

  40. Are you going to order and build your arrows or get them from a shop......if you are going the shop route only buy a 1/2 dozen at a time to see what you like. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  41. That's another personal choice, easy way is to nock an arrow, draw, and have someone mark the arrow in front of the rest. It is possible to shot a 28 inch draw and a 28 inch arrow.
    1 point
  42. Yes, more so at longer distances, lighter is faster in the beginning but has less energy down range.
    1 point
  43. Personally I would also go to a spine of 350-340. 400 is a hair light. Also, arrow manufacturers confuse folks with their numbers, they may call an arrow a 400 but that doesn't mean that's the spine.

  44. Hit the reset button, lol GPI in English means grains per inch, that is the arrow weight per inch of arrow. Say you find an arrow that weighs 10gpi, at 28 inches of arrow you would be looking at a weight of? ....280 grains. Then add on your BH or Field point weight, fletching, nock, Ect and that will be your finished weight. Choosing a GPI is totally up to you, I prefer heavier. My current set up is, Carbon Express Pile drivers 350 and a 100 grain head. I shoot 65# at 29 inch draw.

  48. Thanks guys... sorry I let you all down, lol db- I'm the LAST person to give camera care advice. My camera get treated like the rest of my hunting gear. It's just another tool that gets used and abused! All I use for editing is Nikon View NX and an outdated version of Noise Ninja. I shoot in RAW and only make basic adjustments. (sharpening, contrast, highlights, white balance...etc) I would have got a shot of the chupe, but I had mud on my lens! Doe- if I see one of my pics on someones t-shirt..., I'll just steal their shirt. That never really bothered me about marking my pics. Like you said, they're really not all that good anyhow! If someone really wants a pic from the web, watermarks aren't too hard to edit out. I'd be flattered if someone actually did "steal" one of my shots!
