  1. Started with a pump Crossman at about 14 ish once my paper route paid enough to get one. Moved up to a 30-06 once I hit 18 and was able to hunt deer. And stop bashing fake teeth! They take a lot of pain to get! lol
  2. So sorry. When they get to the point where walking or eating or even going to the bathroom is a task, the hard choice must be made. I have lost many animals over the years and was with every one till the end. So sorry to hear, hope she goes easy. Good luck.
  3. Looks 10 times better, nice work!
  4. Also a lifetime holder. I would not trust NYS to take money anymore and put it where it is suppose to go. They keep telling us that Social security will run out, what about welfare! Seems one gets money put in then taken out while the other just has money taken out. I simply do not trust Big brother to do the right thing, they keep doing the wrong things with money we give them.
  5. Think a trip to hunt the golden road is going to the top of my bucket list! Love Maine!
  6. Don't want to derail but I also have fawns reports from my buddy who drives at night, traced back and it would be the first pre-rut in October early. On LI the weather is usually mild enough for them to survive, often these early starters are the ones who get the biggest when they do make it.
  7. Check this one out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/728858400491089/permalink/2304153706294876/ I don't think you have to be a member to see it but for those who can not open or don't want to open the link here it is.
  8. He sucks I would kick his butt in 30 seconds, lol j/k. He is a legit Tae Kwon Do champion this is the reason his kicks are so good. And yes he is also a legit BJJ black belt, not a person you would want to fight but I would love to roll and spare with him, just would need extra padding for the sparing session! I think I might have a chance if I can tie one of his legs and arms together, slight chance... I use to hate him on fear factor but when I saw him as a commentator he really grew on me. He is a great announcer for MMA and he is very down to earth. Being similar age I find his views very similar to mine and his pod casts very informative. Many not in his age group do not like him because he is a smoker and advocate for pot, I have seen some on here that dislike him just for that. Some of his comments drive me crazy! Ronda Rousey could beat half the guys in her weight class that where in the UFC at the time. Tae Kwon Do would never work in a real fight. He does not make statements like this often but when he does I am like WT? Other than that I must admit I am a fan.
  9. Yes, the lowest I can go is 35 yards, this allows me to shoot out to about 110 yards at max. Its how I prefer to shoot so when I am actually hunting I can hit anything out to 40 yards without any sight adjustment.
  10. I gap shoot with my compound using a 35 yard pin for everything out to 40 yards. Biggest issue is remembering to reset it when I shoot past 40 yards! Step 1 knock arrow! Step 2 adjust range! (So use to shooting everything off one pin I often forget to set it back to 35 yards, then miss the closes target on the course! ) Hit the elk antlers with a 65 pin(30 yards), hit the wrong deer after shooting 80 yards (25 yard target)! Been lucky with still hitting targets when I mess up! This total archery challenge is going to be fun but I think I will need extra arrows! lol
  11. Someone block out that red on Suffolk! No deer here move along, lol.
  12. Buddy went to the dark side this year after loosing 4 deer last year with the traditional. Love the traditional shooting but for hunting I want to pick a hair which is hard to hit with no sights, for me!

    Best of luck, take pictures!!!
  14. I'm kind of a knife enthusiast so I understand buying them as they would have been sold to someone eventually anyway. The way I see it he took a bunch of assault weapons off the streets, why not take them! Sorry but you stick a box of knives in front of me with what is mentioned above for 20 bucks and I will bite! Touchy subject as drugs put decent people in bad places. So many affected by them today you do not have to be a criminal to get hooked on pills, often a sports injury or accident cause people to get hooked. In addition to this you have the heroin epidemic that has spread like wild fire and shows no sign of stopping, affecting all with no regard to sex, race or religion. Real easy to sit back and say they just made a bad choice and can fix it but the reality is the struggle they each face is individual and the demon usually wins. Not so easy to say throw them in jail or punish them when a close family member or friend is affected. Real issue I believe is how to stop it from getting to our youth, spreading and figuring out better help for those in need. Shame we as a country have such an epidemic but we are not alone. Big thanks to all our first responders and Police for doing a kick ass job at saving so many of these people in need! Prayers for good will this Easter weekend to all!
