Zuke it was a clean miss. Found the arrow in the ground behind him with mud on it only. 42 yds went right under his belly. Buck tag still in hand

This is a video still from my Tactacam of what I'm hoping was the impact... 45 yds with crossbow. He ran like he wasn't even hit so I backed out. I'm thinking the shot was slightly low and back. He came down the same trail a doe did about 20-30 mins before the shot...

Put some Tinks out had one of my shooter bucks come jogging in, circled downwind like they all do, and kept his distance. But he was very interested in the estrous. This was also after a rattling sequence about 20-30 mins before trying to get an even bigger buck about 150 yds away in range... 4pm 8H

The sound of branches breaking might actually attract bucks this time of year. Historically when I place a ground blind mid season the deer spot it right away and book it out of there... good luck

Yes, scumbag... I see they are raising very good money. As you can see in my pic I also have a beagle mix.. thank god he's a terrible shot and the dog will survive.. -
How many acres do I need?

IMO for recreation + hunting I would say at least 40-50 acres... like the other posts have stated the deer need a sanctuary. food plots can be out in the open or remote. good luck -
for meat (sausage, jerky, roast, steak, etc), sport, exercise, friends... also to get me out of bed!!

YES... Deer activity should be very very good. Tonight i saw 4 or 5 different bucks running does. Last year during our "supermoon" i saw several bucks well into late morning.. No shots because they were all cruisin through fast so be ready!!

I took 3 days off next week, hoping for semi-all day sits with the xbow.... gonna start using all of my scents this weekend.. so yes, now is the best time to go out.. deer will likely move all day... full moon tomorrow!!!

I become a chiropractor so I could make my own schedule to hunt/fish more but all I do is work!! 3 days off next week to hunt the rut... haven't had a day off yet this year.. can't wait

Right now I am seeing young bucks in range early, scent checking, wandering in the morning between 7 and 830... Other than that the more mature bucks are sneaking by me in the dark 630-7am or late around 630pm... On cam moving into bedding around 6am... Good luck

YES I feel like a deer or two might get shot this weekend. The 160lb -ish mom I've been seeing with twins every sit might go down this weekend, that's if the neighborhood bucks I've been seeing JUST out of bow range all year don't show up instead. Pumped!!

IMO you need to tinker with everything very "intimately".. everything needs to be perfect and comfortable. You can't really do that while in a hurry at Dicks, F&S, etc. Also I like to use threadlocker. So no I would not let someone else put a scope on for me anymore.. But homemade wine sounds great right now -
I feel like this thread could explode tonight!! Everyone (who doesn't have kids yet like me) should be after that "Halloween buck" tonight.... I have 2 more hours of work left to do here and I'm heading right to my stand. Anyone else?? Good luck

My morning I try and cut deer off before they can get back to bedding areas, trying to get in 30 mins before sunrise.. in the evening I will try and intercept deer between their bedding and food source... that being said I've shot morning and evening deer. the rut helps!!
