  1. Hey, ya never know?? Trump won over Clinton! Never saw that coming either. Nothing is ever set in stone! Get out and VOTE!!! If every NY gun owner voted him out, King Andy would lose by a HUGE margin! By not voting, it's almost like giving him an endorsement! Use your vote! Make a difference! Make a change!
  2. I can stand the weather here just fine! I enjoy the seasons in NY! What I can't stand is a complete fool, who only has self ambitions and his unSafe Act!!!! Get to the polls!! Vote him OUT!!!!! Every vote counts!
  3. For a quick clean, in between the patch and rod cleaning, the bore snake and viper are great! I use em on most all my firearms!
  4. I for one would hate to see ya go! You seem very articulate and experienced in other topics like reloading, that I would like to hear more about! Or the virtues of shooting a 270, and the various makes and models that you like best!! Hunting stories, we all have a couple of those! Or advise that you could pass along to a less experienced hunter? Also, I really don't believe in ridiculing someone, because they may think differently than me. I do understand good natured ribbing, that's part of the fun on a forum! And some of us take things more to heart than others. Perhaps there is a little bit of both at play in this thread? Along with a little jump on the guy, cause I don't agree with what he's posting, perhaps? I've spent most of my 61 years in the woods, and not just in NY. I have never seen any physical evidence of any creature or creatures. BUT....I have read some articles, and stories. Who hasn't on the subject?? I do not actually believe myself, but do find the subject interesting and entertaining! And think no less of the people writing these stories than I do of a good storyteller, that always leaves you wondering, could it be true????..... The little kid, that is still a small part of me, says "hey ya never know"! Just like Megledons and Nessie's of the deep, UFO's, monsters under the bed, or things that go bump in the night, or just beyond the light of your campfire, ..................cause it's fun to be scared. No need to ridicule TwoSeventy. I find his posts informative and fun. Hope he sticks around to share more with us.
  5. Enjoy the sh.. out of your poop day!
  6. That's an awesome way to pass the time! I still do alot of waiting for my grandson's activities! I'll enjoy it all while I can. Before long they'll be driving themselves.
  7. Hey.....it works for me! Had a fireball burning a hole in my cheek when I shot my bow buck last year! Though I was not the one who started the trend, I know who did!
  8. Downwind deer, will smell you regardless of what you may, or may not have on your clothes. Nothing we can put on, to completely mask our "human" scent. If a deer is going to smell you anyways from downwind, probably better to not have ticks chowing on you, while the deer runs off.
  9. Welcome!! Many here who would be happy to help ya! Just pull up a seat and join right in! Best of luck this year! This is the year you get it done!
  10. What???............... When was I written out of you will??................... Way to go Rob! Your family and friends thank you too!!!
  11. Sounds like she shoots as good as she looks Bill! Now ya gotta get some deer blood on her! We got to meet up for that coffee soon! Sometime before the rut! We can meet at our usual spot, before light. Have our coffee, then go for a bow hunt!
  12. Public land bucks are among the toughest to hunt. And those are some very nice bucks! Just to have kept your cam's from being stolen is a big accomplishment! Wishing you the very best of luck this season. Looking forward to seeing you with one of those hard to kill bucks!
  13. Yesterday, I was up in the area where this pic was taken. Though we don't have any pictures of them yet, from this cam, there is PLENTY of bear sign up there. Tracks and scat. I'm guessing bear. Or Dogman............................
  14. At less than 30 yards, I've never seen my arrows affected too much at all by the wind. Unless it's gusting gail force. If it's blowing hard enough to affect arrow flight, probably don't want to be in a tree anyways.
  15. And to think, we never even needed to lock our doors years ago. Now I have deadbolts, security cams, and two different firearms for home protection. Built in car alarms, and trackable gps for vehicles. At times I think this word is quickly going to hell in a handbasket. With all the druggies, crazies, perverts, and scumbags out there. Then..... out of the blue..... someone goes out of their way to do something nice! Totally unexpected! And that gives me hope that my grandkids, will someday enjoy some of the "finer things in life" that I've had. I know it's so difficult now days. But I have to keep a ray of hope, for better days to come. If only to just pass along to someone else. To perhaps give them a ray of hope, all their own. To maybe pass along........................
  16. Man, that sucks big time! I'm a firm believer of what comes around, goes around. When it comes around for this scumbag, I hope it's double!
  17. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Cherish all the beautiful memories. Sounds like she left a lot of them. Prayers sent.
  18. Lot of character there. I'd shoot him too. Pretty cool.
  19. Having had the pleasure of hunting, and sitting down to eat with these guys. I can honestly say........ Great group of hunters! And I was never hungry during my time there! Think I gained a few pounds in a couple days!.....lol Good time. Best of luck to you guys this season!
  20. Low 40s here this morning. Spent all day at the property. So nice!
  21. You dodged another bullet, thankfully Eddie. Still got ya in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully you will get out to shoot a bullet, this year! Hang in there and take care sir.
  22. As long as the rest is square, first thing I'd do is lower the sight pin a bit. That will bring your POI up to where you want it. Nice call NFA-ADK.
  23. If I get out that way, I'll take a mile of it off your hands!
  24. Guess I'll ask, what would the Mrs prefer do do? As for myself? I'd be happy and content to do either one. Or a combination of both, like others have said. Both places are beautiful. Go with what she chooses. There really is no bad choice here.
