What's for dinner tonight?

Well today my wife asked me this morning to make my homemade venison chili. 2 cans rotel mild and 2 cans of tomato sauce. Venison burger, sweated onions, celery and green peppers. Then 2 cans of kidney beans and 1 can of black beans then another smaller red bean and finally pinto beans. Then the chili seasonings and set and forget for 8 hours occasional stirring here and there. Who hungry nice big crock pot filled? Pics to follow.

Grabbed some ramps today since he boys baseball game was rained out.
Whipped up some potato/ramp soup and the Mrs threw in a baked Mac and cheese.


Followed this recipe for the soup and used the stick blender to break down about half the diced potatoes.

They are sometimes called wild leeks. They have a strong garlic taste and smell and are usually one of the first things to green up in the woods. I found some today in my woods, they need a couple of more days.

I'm picturing the Monty Python gang standing on opposite sides of the Korean DMZ with crossbows. And laughing my butt off. Then Benny Hill rides in to lead the charge of the brigade to storm the...whatever the North Koreans have.

Venison steak sandwich with onions and peppers, covered in Italian cheese mix and put under broiler for 5 min.

Also made a batch of jalapeño pickled eggs.
