WTF!! License Issuing Problem

I'm up at camp and decided to stop by local gun shop to purchase my hunting license.

I can't get my license because the new "camo" paper isn't working in the printer. There's a glitch in the system and NYS has been working to fix the issue for the last week and a half now!!!

Didn't the state test the new paper on the older printers that these store owners across the state have?

What a bunch of typical NYSDEC BULLSHIT!!!

Sorry but I needed to vent!!

There was a glitch in the computers I heard to. I have my tags already went to Herb Plillipsons and had no problems. I know a few people that went to wal-mart and got it with no issues.

Our Town Clerk said they had been having paper issues but she didn't have any trouble while I was there.  Got my Muzzleloader stamp and 2 doe tags.

Walmart had to print mine on the old yellow paper. The camo paper would not work in their machine

new paper has been very tricky to use

its thicker and a smoother finish than the old stock so the printers are having a hell of a time with it

we were told its ok to use any old stock as long as we can print a license so u might see licenses on camo paper or last years yellow paper or even green!

DEC...go figure!

Was turned away the first week but went back last Monday and got it no problem.

He was able to print some licenses last week on the old yellow paper but he only had a couple of rolls.  The DEC told hem to get rid of the yellow paper but he kept two for some strange reason.  I guess he had a premonition of what was going to happen!!

Town clerk had the same problem and she had thrown all of her yellow paper rolls out too.  Oh well...

I'll go to town hall down here next Thursday and try to get it.

On a related topic :  I applied for DMP and purchased Bow and M.L. license this week from the DEC website. I found the new site confusing.I believe I am getting everything mailed to me however I did not receive a confirmation e-mail like I used to with the previous website. Hope everything arrives in the mail including my lifetime lic. that has not arrived yet.What is it with government websites ??

Once word gets around I wonder how many will try not buying one this year and try to get away with carrying last years yellow licenses?

Exactly my thoughts as well... And how much more BS are we gonna have to deal with getting stopped by LEO's to double check !

I didi mine online as well, I didnt get a confirmation email either just printed my receipt in case. I got my tags in the mail one week from the day I purchased them.

Neither has mine. Starting to get frustrated.

Got mine at local walmart today. Just handed him my drivers license and five minutes later or less, I had all my licenses and doe tags on the new camo sort of paper, sort of plastic. I will say that my pen worked fine on it though.

I went today with my father and we both got the doe tags we wanted. It was a 2 hour wait becuase the system kept freezing on the guys. I was told that they were given the green light to use the old yellow tags. Hopefully ill get my lifetime tags tomorrow.

I still do not have mine in the mail as yet....maybe it is going by your last name etc as mine starts with a O.....I will give them another week and then start calling...

Don't think so. I got my lifetime license last week, but my son (same last name and same address) still hasn't received his.
