I haven't been in the woods with a bow yet, but I've helped drag out two doe the last two days. LOL.

 

Finally heard of the first person in my area having to pass a shooter buck, a 125" 8.

Calling it quits for the day, rain 43 and windy, again saw does walking in to my blind but nothing else. I think I'll just spend the day on the couch with my dog!

I've seen 7 deer here in 8n 6 does 1 buck and this damn wind got me each time ....didn't spook just wandered away once they hit my wind ....another hour and time to get more wood cut and stacked

Came in for coffee. Some doe action this morning, had one wander about at 30 yards. Not shooting does this year due to low numbers I am seeing. The Big 10's tracks are everywhere. Now I just need to find him to stick an arrow in him. Heading out later for a long day/evening sit.

I am warming to the  Knight and Hale Pack Rack Deer Call. It is certainly lighter and less bulky then my usual bag of wood. If you strike the K+H correctly it makes a decent noise. Got to trim some branches after moving a stand yesterday into the heart of deer track country. This will be my stand for the evening. Big 10's muddy prints all around it.

Too windy for the new property to feel safe and the wind is just terrible for the property....I just got in from getting the garden ready  for winter...in for a coffee break...rain that was due to arrive at 12...showed up at 8:30...good day to get chores done...

Heading back out in 10 min going to do a little still hunting with the bow before I make my way back to the blind around 3. Hoping with the wind and rain nothing will be able to hear me coming

Lol, I know I know .... I used to criticize people who used those things in public , but hey, takes one hell of a good woods photo ! Especially when your by yourself and want a pic with your deer on the phone to show your buddies who are still on stand...

Maybe next weekend for me........too much to do today and tomorrow.  It doesn't break my heart that I didn't hunt in the wind today.

 

ONLY 7 weeks (48 DAYS to be exact) until gun opens, plenty of time to bow hunt...........don't upset your wife and kids TOO early.

Picking up cider apples, I suddenly became surrounded by deer coming out of the woods. Wind and all.  Best one was a shooter. Like he knew he couldn't be arrowed.  Showers starting now.
