It's always rained on the opener more so than not...eathier way it's a guaranteed quite walk in

I'm feeling kind of speechless right now. I've been hunting this buck hard including an all day sit yesterday with temps in the 20's. This morning I decided to hit up another spot and return to this one where this pic lives for the afternoon. So I get up in my stand this afternoon and I come across this pic of the buck that I've been hunting. It turns out that he shot him this morning about 200 yds from my stand. This is the only pic that I've seen of this deer during daylight hours. He was with a doe when he was taken. I'm a bit upset over it but I'm glad that I at least know that he was killed. I just hope now that the other 2 boys that were around, still are, as I haven't had pics of them in about a week or so.

Is it just me or is the wind almost always not coming from where your phone weather app says it's supposed to be coming from? Supposed to be out of east. I get up into a stand favorable for east wind and it's coming from the west. I guess I should get a wind sock to put up on my barn to look at before I head out! Ok, rant over.

Back in 3S (Westchester) with compound. Checked cam to see if 8pt came back to my scrape. He did not, but some does did yesterday and a different random buck. Also a shooter for me. Can’t tell if he’s a wide 5 or 7pt.

Funny thing is I️ think it was for paintball not hunting. Owner told me previous owners had paintball field back here. Lots of little wooden pallet blinds around. I’m sitting in front of one.

I wonder if deer like leaks, when I brushed away the leaves for a quite spot for my feet I discovered I'm sitting upon a bunch of leaks. Ever get a deer with stinky breath?

You sure they're leaks ? I see them April into May and poof they're gone by summer

Just got back from range day and everything is sighted in. Now the crappy part, cleaning them all except the rifle. One shot, 10 ring, all set and no cleaning until after the season for that girl. She likes it dirty.
