Got outa stand at 10 and scared that button off. Pizzed in scrape, pulled card showed not a lot. One 8 but I think that cam missed 9 outa 10 shots

Hit the island and yea road open. That saves me 35 more minutes walking in morning.

Cleared out tomorrow’s spot and nudged what looked like a 6,

Wandered around a bit and sitting in a new spot. I’m on ground and thick but what the heck can’t shoot one not hunting!

Yep couldn't resist sitting the last 2hrs of archery season.  Very nice out!   Feels deery even if they don't know it.

You'd think today was Saturday with all the shooting that's going on.. from all directions, mostly single shots.. leave some for the rest of us, would ya?  On a more positive note, nice night. Cold and clear. Let's see what happens in magic hour..

No deer yet. Lots of shots, some squawking ravens, a pileated woodpecker, and some squirrel on squirrel action.

Looking across corn field next to house fat corner  O glass  a oe and talk 8 I can't stand it!

Went to check trail cameras today, and on my way back down the hill a small rack buck limps across the trail in front of me.  No blood on the fresh snow.  I watched him for a couple of minutes as I changed an SD card in a camera.  I walked to the house and grabbed the crossbow.  I walked up on the down wind side of him and he jumped up when I got to about 20 yards away.  He faced me and laid right back down.  I side stepped to get a better angle on him and he stood back up favoring his right front leg.  I didn't want to shoot him but I felt bad watching him suffer.  I put him down and can't find anything wrong with him.  No other holes, scrapes. or punctures.  Gutted him and all looks good?  Wasn't expecting this today.

Saw a very nice buck at about 120yds.  No doe so far.  This will be my first archery season without a doe.  A few minutes left.  Bottom of the 9th and 2 out.

Good wind for this stand my brother got a big doe in October this year. Now I can see how he hit the backstrap almost straight down. 

Didn't see or here anything,but did see a bald eagle fly by then back again pretty cool.

It’s only fitting that on the last night of archery season I jump deer in sight of my house while going to check a cam. Lol

10 hours in stand today. 3 deer between 730 and 11. All were 150+ yds away. Colds as balls. Trying to be excited for tomorrow but right now it just sounds like another long day in the cold woods.. nothing a hot shower, a hot meal, and a cold drink can't fix.

Well not bringing any deer home tonight but at least I saw some. Had 3 doe walk straight to me at 415 but can't shoot doe in 6n. Still a good hunt and man was it cold!

Going to try the old “ Indian squaws would give up the nook to the dedicated hunter “ the eve before a big hunt. Wife hasn’t fallen for it yet but at least it’s a tradition to try.  Wedding band , best form of birth control ever made   He he
