I remember an old one from my Dad... " A deer thinks every hunter is a stump in the woods. A turkey thinks every stump in the woods is a hunter". Anybody have others?

Regarding turkey hunting.....

If you persevere, you will eventually kill some turkeys  that you do not deserve....However, at the same time you will deserve many more turkeys that you do not kill.....  Quoted  ( more or less) From Tom Kelly's book  " The Tenth Legion"...

Another one regarding turkey hunting....

Any time that you are in contact with an adult gobbler, events are constantly occurring, any one of which can make the difference  in whether you win the game or lose it....

Regarding wingshooting.....In order to make a double,  you need to be sure to kill the first bird....If you are thinking about the second bird, you'll probably miss the first one...

Shoot the deer not the rack.

Count the points after it is dead

 And when someone says they missed or made a bad shot yet knows the number of points the buck had.

If you had time to count the points you had time to make a good shot.

One more.  Don't just shoot aim.

Practice shooting ( bow and gun ) while taking a #2. Deer and turkey love to show on when your pants are down and your weapon is 30 feet away.
