Bionic
What is this? They are little orange balls, from flies. You could hear them hitting the windshield like big rain drops. I never had these orange balls speckle a vehicle. Bugs, yes! Not these orange balls.

Its ok, I washed it last night for them to stick nicely lol Like I said, used to a lot of bugs, have a place in the adirondacks, and I have a long commute to work through dark dense pine forests, but never experienced this orange crap. These orange balls were attached to these flies! Its wierd. I figured you upstaters would have seen this. I was thinking along the lines of eggs of some sort, but not really sure. I washed the truck last night, and tonight this all happened withing a mile or 2....you could hear them hit the windshield like heavy rain drops. Pic was from last night around 7pm...scrubbed clean

wooly
Looks like crane fly eggs. I saw one depositing them on a dead log the last week of turkey season. Really neat to see. Edited June 3, 2018 by wooly 1
Steve D
Those would be "Ford" bugs. The later the model the more that hit your truck. A chevy could drive by and not get a one

He claims that he would go broke if it wasn't for FORD. 80% of his major repairs are on FORDS. I have a Chevy work truck that has been pretty decent, and a Toyota that I love. He drives Dodges, but admits his gas mileage is awful. As for the bugs, I am clueless. That picture of the grill sure is strange looking. The have a tendency to go slower as to not hit a broken down ford along the road. All kidding aside Ford does make a decent truck. One of my most dependable was a Ford 150 with a straight six.

Drive a ford now, and my last vehicle was a chevy and still own a caddy. All were pretty good in terms of durability. When I asked my buddy who is a mechanic, he said every brand has their lemons and good performers. Its luck of the draw.

I always say if you want a work truck you are going to abuse, buy a Ford. If you want a truck for a daily driver, and carry a 2x4 once in awhile buy a Chevy. If you can't afford a truck buy a Dodge.
