Hunting Check List

Been trying to get things done ahead of time this year.

Oil & all filters changed on truck--Check

Atv oil change, new spark plug, and filters changed--Check

Snow Blower oil change, greased, and new plug--Check

One Ladder Stand placed & trimming complete--Check

All hunting related clothes, packs and related equipment soaked in permethrin--Check (today)

Shotguns, rifles, & .22's sighted in and ready to go--Check

New string and cable job on bow--Check

 Tons of practice with the bow--Check (ongoing)

Traps all dyed and ready to go--Check

 I am way more ahead of the game this year compared to most years. There is always more to do but the stuff that really matters is complete so let the good times roll.

Hope everyone else has a good start also.

Sounds like you got it covered.  I did put some additive in the boat gas and started the snow blower.  Hunting stuff is ready.  And also got my shore night fishing gear setup.

This is the first year I didn’t need to buy or replace any hunting gear.

Every time I turn around, I thin of something else I need to do or buy. This is Little Squirrel’s first season and I guess you (me) tend to take a lot for granted when you are the only one to prepare for. Almost 100% tho.

Just finished sharpening broadheads,clothes packed and in totes,stands set and hang and hunt setup ready.   Only thing left is to sight in the rifle I always forget to do that before bow.

Alot of shooting done with bow,BH's fly same as field points.

pack all set with calls etc,gotta add a roll of emergency TP to it!!!!

Knives/hooks all sharpened and ready to bloody up

stands are all placed, shooting lanes are cleared (more or less), clothes are hanging outside, new bow setup and arrow setup are dialed in, tags are purchased. Game cart and car basket are ready in the garage.  All I have left is to pack the pack (water, snack, orange tape, ziploc bags, zip ties, disp gloves, etc...) but that's easy.

After reading all the above, I am NOT READY!
Clothes are done and treated with Sawyers, bow is tuned, and everything else need to be done!!!!!

I blame TRUMP and COVID and EHD!!!

I'm just going to wing it this year. Nothing is ready at all and I only have 2 days to get it ready. I think I am just going to toss all my gear in the truck and hope for the best.

That and my range finder are in the bow case so as long as I remember the bow case I should be fine. If I forget the bow case then all bets are off.

Clothes were washed yesterday and treated tonight. All that's left is organizing backpack and screwing on a couple more broad heads.

im just gonna slip out behind my house Thursday in the morning cause the kids will be home. hung my lifelines today, that was my last item on the checklist!

I gotta sharpen my broadheads organize my hunting backpack and pouches. It looks like rain later today and tomorrow,so that should give me plenty of time. I probably wont be able to make it out on Thursday,but the weekend i will be for sure.

I start hanging my jackets /pants /hats outside in a few more days (I start with NT ML). 

Always pays to check all of the coats/vests, etc. to remove the old lunches, forgotten squirrels, etc. from last year. Retreat all the leather, climb all the ladder stands and replace straps/adjust as necessary,

Mine main concern for prep is to have "ALL" my hunting clothes treated to repel ticks.
