Their eggs will stick to the vegetation in long strings. We've been fishing 9' of water for perch. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk I was checking the crappie bite this weekend. One spot on the St Lawrence had 9 boats clustered in a spot less than the size of a football field and seemed to be hammering the perch.. I was talking to a guy that said they were in the same spot the weekend before but on the ice ..lol

Great fishing this time of year hoping to have a buddy take us out but have good luck right off his dock. Keeps us happy and kids have a ball. johnplav
Despite high winds, rough waters, and canceled charters… we made it out fishing. Got out 14 miles and had action all day. Landed a bunch of big grouper that were out of season, and went home with plenty of snapper. Inshore fishings been good all week. I’ll miss the Florida fishing, weather, and sunsets. stubborn1VT
Took the boat out for the first time on Monday afternoon. 40 degree surface temps on Champlain. Feel like I got lucky with this salmon. Lousy picture, but a 4.2 lb fish.

Last year I didn't keep any to eat. I've eaten enough PCB's as a kid eating bass and catfish from runoff ponds. I probably don't need Hudson River PCB's too. rachunter
Hit a lake today instead of the streams. They didn’t stock it yet so I messed around with bass and tried for perch. The water was warm at 50* wind was blowing pretty good. I couldn’t get the bass to take a woolybugger they seemed to like the blue/chrome Chloe tin. I’m going to try another lake tomorrow for perch. rachunter
Lakes are still slushy up here. I just wandered around and looked at the damage and erosion from the winter. I might have to bite the bullet and buy a boat this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wolc123
I tried for perch this morning but only caught smallmouth (about a dozen). This 19 incher was the longest. Several, in the 16” range, put up very good fights for low 40’s water temperature. The wind picked up so much, that it swamped my small 12 ft rowboat, while it was tied to the dock. The 50 year old foam “upright floatation”, under the seats of that old Sears boat, still works. We pulled the boat out, full of water, with a long chain and my father in laws tractor. The docks and barge, that we just got into position before the wind picked up, handled the storm very well. My fishing stuff is drying out now. I might go back out a bit a sunset, since the wind has let up.
