Is Putin emboldened by weak leadership and appeasement?

Again, no, North.

I am a little disappointed that you don't see this for what it is. It is unconscionable for a former US president to publicly praise the war-mongering tactics of a Russian President and throw the current US president under the bus.

I would categorize it as anti-American.

It is a very simple statement: I wholeheartedly condemn Russia's illegal and immoral invasion of Ukraine and stand with the Ukrainian people.

Of course it's bullshit as Trump doesn't stand with anyone, but it would have been the right thing to do and he might have picked up some good will.

Even the presidents of the Czech Republic and Hungary condemn Putin's action. These guys are supposed to be friends, hell, they supported Putin in Crimea. But this was a step too far and they remember the USSR. They are now calling for Russia to be removed from SWIFT.

But once again Trump shows that he can't do the simple right thing and has to be a self-serving fucking moron.

Anyway, back to the harsh reality.

Ukrainian couple gets married.

And goes on their honeymoon.

Funny how the self serving one served the American people the best and told all these other countries to get off the energy tit of Putin and yet here we are.

Youre wrong , my friend.  And didnt Biden- and the entire entourage of Dems- throw Trump under the bus time and agin when he was President? Youre missing the point of his remarks- nothing more.  Dont think for a minute- and deep down, I truly believe you agree with this - that Trump is, like cheering Putin on and roooting fro him to kick butt: NOT!! His point was, once again, that he could stare Putin down -and would have- if he were the current occupant in the White House; sadly (for all of us, especially the Ukranians) that is not the case  :(.

To me it’s just Trump taking something and making it about himself, per the usual for him. He’s an entertainer though, and that’s what he does.

I actually agree with this and wanted to clarify my remarks as per Lefty's contention earlier about the whole "Putin is my Hero thing" .  I stand by what I said earlier in terms of Trumps intentions based on what he said about Putin; moreover, I agree with his assertion that he would do a much better job dealing with Putin than the current Prez can.  However, I also concede(albeit sort of grudgingly cuz I always gush over the guy lol)that grace and humility are not his strong points and that he should have probably phrased his remarks differently, but hey: you cant have everything when you choose a leader, right? :)

The man knows how to hold the spotlight, and I’ll concede that the skill has served him well.

That's the truth. Heck, the only thing democrats needed in a leader was for him to not be Trump.

I actually feel a little sorry for the old senile guy. I think at this point he doesn't want to be there anymore than we want him there. Look in Bidens eyes anytime he is speaking.

As some of you fantasize about how Russia’s unprovoked war would’ve presumably played out differently with Trump in power, let’s not forget the numerous lifelong conservative and Republican National Security Officials who publicly came out in opposition to a Trump. These folks, much more prepared to assess the national security chops of a president than a bunch of armchair experts on a hunting forum, overwhelming went against party to support Biden. Here’s the link: https://www.defendingdemocracytogether.org/national-security/

You can now return to your fanboy Trump fantasy.

It's all about the context that's intended; is Trump saying that he agrees with Putin and his actions or that Putin was "genius" for they strategy he used with the invasion and a dig against Biden ?

That Mussolini sure was murderous dictator, but boy did the trains run on time!

Whether this was a smart strategy or not (and it may turn to be Putin's downfall if E EU goes against him), it's pretty much Politics 101 that you don't publicly praise an enemy and certainly not during the initial stage of an invasion and precursor to war. Which the US could well be dragged into.

Bill Maher got roasted and lost sponsors for this comment on the 911 terrorists after Bush called them cowards: "Staying in the airplane when it hits the building. Say what you want about it. Not cowardly.”

Was Maher wrong?

Forget the ramifications for a moment and look at the thing itself. An avowed enemy of the US and NATO is using the freely given praise from a former US President in his propaganda broadcasts as he invades a democratic country.

Trump doesn't care about Putin and couldn't find Ukraine on a map. He was speaking extemporaneously and didn't consider what he was saying, just that it was a shot at Biden. What Trump cares about is losing the WH is the most humiliating manner to the most ridiculous opponent imaginable and it galls him so he will do whatever he can to hurt Biden. Whether it harms the US or not is secondary.

Back to what matters ...

Devastating if true:

Do I need to define nepotism for you?

Do I need to define Diversion for you ?

Please keep the topic on how the bumbling idiot you paid for to get into office is slowly ruining this country and supporting Putin monetarily with his invasion into Ukraine.

Putin is playing Biden like a balalaika at the Moscow music hall, with a smile and a shot of vodka between acts..

You raise a good point here and VERY good analogy .Again ,  Although I agree with his contention and feeel that he’s definitely not cheering him (Putin) on , he probably shouldn’t have said it and , in retrospect , was a bit tactless .
