I go to bed every night at midnight. I pee at 3am and poop at 5am. The only problem is that I don't wake up until 8am.7 points

Ok so we have determined a shotgun can kill someone as dead as a rifle in an idiots hands. Now back to the sandwich. Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 23 points

God was just about done creating the universe , but He had 2 extra things left in His bag of creations , so He decided to split them between Adam and Eve. He told the couple that one of the things he had to give away was the ability to pee while standing up. " It's a very handy thing " , God told the couple , whom he found under an apple tree. " I was wondering if either one of you wanted the ability ", God asked. Adam jumped up and blurted , " Oh, give it to me ! I'd love to , please oh , please oh , let me have the ability , It'd be so great ! When I'm working in the garden , I could just stand there and let it fly . It'd be so cool , I could write my name in the snow . Oh please God let it be me who you give that gift to , please God let me be able to stand and pee in the snow. Eve just smiled and told God that if Adam wanted it that badly , he should have it . It seemed to be the thing that would make him happy and really wouldn't mind if Adam was giving this ability. And so Adam was given the ability to urinate while standing in a vertical position. Adam was so happy that he celebrated by peeing his name in the snow while laughing with delight. " Fine " God said , while looking into his bag of leftover gifts, "What's left here ? Oh yes.......multiple orgasms .3 points

Took a pic and put it on Instagram .... Hey doing L and R's are hard ! My wife walks in room," how old are you? " 54. " How old do you think you are?" ,well I guess I feel as good a s most in their 30's do. " so you don't think your like 12." Um no. The why the F@$& would you do that!!?? Guess she was not happy about it. Told her if they did it on Duck Dynasty she'd be laughing about it.2 points

That was my point..., hehehe. I remember a few posts of clearly yearling buck kills where guys were saying DEC aged them at 6+ yo and heading downhill. If theres so much wiggle room for error in aging an antlered deer, I'd imagine the antlerless ages are even easier to inflate/exagerate without too much questioning as long as it doesn't have spots!2 points

ah - well that I'd certainly agree with. I agree that a "pro" isn't going to want to take the time to do it that way. Nobody touches my deer except me. I'm way to fussy so I just do it myself. It's actually kind of therapeutic. (I know, I'm weird... I just never admit that to the wife. )2 points

Lol ..... it is interesting to watch the evolution of a thread. I believe that I have found the reply that actually touched off the accuracy thing between a shotgun and rifle. The implication as I read it is that the shotgun is so much less accurate than a rifle that hunters in the southern zone have to empty their magazine in order to get a deer down....lol. And this accounted for why some members were indicating that their lives are in mortal danger and they are nearly too terrified to go in the woods with slugs literally spraying the trees. Man I haven't heard so much BS and over generalization in a long time ... lol.2 points

If the morning is all you have, than thats when you have to hunt. This is the last week, no matter what you do this week, it wont matter in 7 days bc the season is over. Go get em2 points

Not to get off topic but I have seen several shotguns that would outshoot several rifles at 100 yards. You may not own one but I have seen rifles that could barely hold a 3" group at 100 and slug guns that could cut holes at that distance. It really has nothing to do with the type of firearm. there are good ones and ones that suck in both classes.2 points

Spikes are mostly 1.5 year old bucks. A 1.5 buck regardless of how many points it has, is one of the dumber deer out there during their 1st rut. Still not a simple stalk.2 points

LOL! I was cooking out last winter, and had to pee. It was dark so I did what any guy would do, right there in the snow (but away from the grill) Some how the wife noticed the yellow snow and was appalled!! I don't get it.. I guess I was supposed to go inside, take off my snowy boots, walk down the hall to the John, walk back, put my boots back on and go back out…….REALLY? I guess it's me...2 points

Here in our part of 8N, I am seeing more deer than I have seen in quite a few years (perhaps even a few decades). Just the other afternoon, I could have had my choice of deer off the lawn in broad daylight. The trick would have been to get the livingroom window open without spooking them ..... lol. The fact is though that the two that I already have gotten are about all the wife and I will eat over the year. I have been out a couple times after the snow got on the ground looking for that huge 8-point that I got the trail-cam picture off and I have to say that I have seen several trails where a whole pile of deer are running together. That's something that I haven't seen in a long time. I think the take in our area is sky-high and I still think they haven't really made a dent in the population. So I am looking forward to a heck of a season next year too.2 points

Did some duck hunting yesterday with my youngest son. Mallards, Black Duck and Geese were everywhere! Here's a photo of Anthony with his first ever duck. It was the only duck to set into the decoys. All other shots were at quite a distance. He will be eating Duck Cacciatore with wild rice for lunch today. What a great moment... I am proud to have passed on the love of hunting to both my sons!1 point

Personally I consider a 1.5 yro doe to be an average doe. I consider a mature doe to be one of those fat slobs that weigh 160+ with the snout that is a mile long. I have seen several this year, had a DMP and I am regretting passing them up. And they were pretty darn wary.1 point

No, you just cant seem to admit you are wrong. If weapon a shoots the same hole at 100 yards and weapon b shoots the same hole at 100 yards, they are both accurate at 100 yards. What type of weapon they are is insignificant.1 point

I haven't been able to hunt for an entire week due to army on the weekend and finals for college started last week. Finally going to take a break from studying and hit the woods tomorrow morning, the bow will be in the hand. I bought a pack of the rage chisel tips at dicks on sale and am going to give em a try!1 point

That's very true about the cost, but I think the 783 has features that can make it an even more accurate rifle than the 700. The 783 along with the Ruger American pretty much stole some technology from Savage, and Savage rifles just might be the most accurate out of the box. These new inexpensive rifles don't look pretty, but they can shoot. I wouldn't be surprised if Remington adapts some of the 783 features into a new 700 somewhere down the road. The 700 is still a great rifle but it's been in production for 50 years now, so an upgrade will probably happen sooner or later. Of course anything new that comes out these days, generally requires less labor to make, so that's only another reason to adapt some of the features that they put into the 783.1 point

I'm about "deer'd out" myself. I figure I have one good day of hunting left in me for deer season this coming weekend. Family obligations and personal projects I have lined up that I want to get started on are helping me come to grips with the close of another season. Normally I enjoy MZ more than regular season.1 point

Genetics and diet is key to antler growth but diet plays a huge factor. Chances are a 6 point will most likely have more points but the rack will be bigger based on what the deer is eating. Having said that a deer won't always grow more points but it will grow wider, taller thicker and so on, it all depends on the deer. For instance, a small 10 point can become a big 9 point. Or a big 8 point can become an even bigger 8 point.1 point

18" is usually the standard in discussions. Although it applies to scoring, I couldn't care less, I personally love high tight massive racks (don't we all?).1 point

lol - sorry ncountry - just a phrase I use sometimes - glad you didn't take it personally as I forgot the I'm from PW PA, born and raised in rifle country. Shotguns were only for birds or skeet. Having moved to NY (Dutchess County) I had to get acquainted with slugs and slug guns. It doesn't take much research or mental exercise to realize that smooth bores are about as accurate as a statement made by a politician. Slightly more research will uncover that the additions of a cantilevered, rifled barrel with a good scope will provide the capability of accuracy. I said the capability because then it comes down to the process of finding out which brand of ammo and what style your particular setup "likes". It's a bit of a process but can be done and quite good accuracy can be achieved. I think the problem lies in that way too many aren't educated in the ways of the outdoors. The whys and why nots. And as such they are just interested in achieving their goal as soon as they possibly can and with the least amount of effort. Close is good enough and just keep firing until it drops. I've heard so many 5 shot volleys that it just boggles my mind. p.s. no attack was meant1 point

I like the real ones too. The wife and i get one every year. My grandfather passed away 2 years ago. He was 94. He had the same fake tree that he bought in the 70's. After X-mas he would have me or my brother/ cousins carry it to the attic with the lights and ornaments attached. The next year we would carry it down stairs and he would just plug it in. When we talked about the real trees we bought, and what we paid for them every year, he would always call us "idiots" LOL!!!1 point

A friend of mine and I have been out since this morning. Saw a few this morning but no shots. Now we are sitting over the last field of corn on the farm. The farmers combining it. About a half hour ago three does popped out ahead of the combine I put one of them on the ground. Sitting until the end of the day hoping to get maybe one more.1 point

Bubba as you've said...things in the North seem to be different.....all one here in the southern zone needs is to hear the sound of slugs whistling past them or the thud of trees next to them getting hit...to have a healthy fear of being shot ....as crazy as some may think that is....it happens in the southern tier a lot.....high deer density and high hunter density....1 point

Many years ago there was a group of old timers that sat all day every day during the gun season in December. They all had folding wooden stools, A GI surplus wool blanket and a heavy galvanized bucket filled with coal or charcoal. They would get to their spot setup the stool, light the bucket of coal place it between their legs and then drape the wool blanket over their legs trapping the hot air made by the coal bucket underneath them. I tried this a few times and had to open up the wool blanket every 30 minutes to cool down. Damn bucket of coal nearly cooked me alive. I was younger then and may have not needed that extreme method to keep warm. I'm much older now about the same age as those old timers were, going to give it a try one day.1 point

I don't think the people that leave stuff like this take into account that other people use the state land too. Hikers, joggers, kids, people just taking a stroll. To leave the carcass there is one thing(not that I agree with that either) but to completely behead it and leave it propped up there like that is another thing all together. Degrading to the animal and just plain ignorant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Once I got cold I decided to try an experiment and push to myself. Did a walk by of the thick stuff thinking they would exit into the wind and into the woods. Then circled to the back and still hunted through the woods a 1/4 mile from where I pushed. The good news is, it seemed to work. The bad news is I was spotted and couldn't get a shot off in time. And I saw a snowy owl! Very cool to see.1 point

both my kids started out shooting a 20 gauge 870, I bought the full size gun and got a youth stock for it until they grew into the full size stock. I started them with light skeet loads and it was fine..........when it was time for turkey, I just slipped a 3" magnum into it, they never even knew it.1 point

My Brother Did IT!!!! I do not even know where to begin. WooHoo!!! I decided to go hunting this afternoon and I took my son Ryan with me. Ryan has helped put out trail cameras and food plots in the past, but he has never sat on a stand with me. So, this was Ryan's first hunt with his daddy. We got to the stand about 2 hours before dark and I set up a makeshift groundblind close to a scrape and heavily used deertrail - both of which we had entered into DeerLogic. About an hour later I made two calls with my Doe Bleat Can from Primos, and I heard the deer get up less than 100 yards and started walking towards us. He got to 50 yards and I made a perfect shot with my Remington 1187 - the deer didn't take another step. Both Ryan and I were slapping high fives and hugging - Ryan said he couldn't believe we got a Whitetailed Deer.... We went over and checked out the deer pulled out the DL and entered our bucklog with a big CHECK in the harvested section to let all of our huntgroup members know we got a deer. Mitch was calling me within minutes - MINT!!! What a Hunt - this will go down as one of my best. Ryan is hooked - just like I was when my daddy took me. I feel so blessed to have this chance to share my passion with my sons... The deer is a 9 pointer - not that it matters I always say you can't eat the horns!!!!1 point
