  1. I just finished this up for a buddy of mine and member of the forum. He shot this buck a couple years ago. There is 20 hrs in it and I took a photo after every two hours if anyone wants to see the progression.

  2. The fines are case by case. Four years ago I caught two guys jacking deer at night on my property. They ended up getting fined $2500 each, lost their firearm, lost their licenses for five years. It would have been nice if they lost their vehicle as well...

  3. I wonder what made him a jackass. Standing up to an oppressive government or being conservative?

  5. If I were to classify a crossbow, it would be with archery equipment. Pretty simple I think. So full inclusion is the way to go.

  6. One thing about safes is you put everything in one easy to steal box. Bolt it down, keep.it out of sight of the causal visitor, and if it's under 500 pounds consider loading the bottom with bags of shot . Mine is in a hidden room in the basement , bolted to the floor and wall, and not all my guns are valuables are in it . Brain storm , leave a cheap locker type safe out in the open filed with junk.

  7. Hey guys, im inquiring for a friend, her father left her a gun that even local gun shops do not know anything about .. so i was hoping someone here could maybe help. She is looking to just get info about it, the make, possible model, era, you name it.. the only thing the shops and local museum could tell her is, that it seems to be a revolving shotgun from Belgium back in the 1800's... maybe If anyone has some knowledge of the gun or a place to inquire about it, we would greatly appreciate that... Thanks in advance

  8. You have a fellow asking for some help for a friend and instead of offering some help in identifying the piece, you toss out a pretty big number (for some, but not all) to snatch it up from an uneducated individual. The OP didn't ask for offers nor did he say a damned word about selling the gun, just looking for information. So now it's painfully obvious that you know something about the pictured firearm but aren't going to help out. Classy move...............

  10. I sure as hell would. The Feds are clearly out of control, and are NEVER held accountable. Ruby Ridge, Waco, and Fast & Furious, all resulted in the deaths of innocents. How many Fed agents were arrested for these atrocities? ZERO!

  11. I find it very disheartening when I read these reports with the laughable fines imposed. Why can't NY be more like other states when it comes to serious violations like poaching? Certainly thousands of dollars in fines, confiscating weapons and vehicles, and loss of hunting privileges for a few seasons would be more of a deterrent than what is done now. DEC lists conservation law violators in St. Lawrence County Thursday, January 28, 2016 - 11:45 am The state Department of Environmental Conservation Region 6 office has released the following list of violations of conservation law and court action: • Donald L. Maroney, 54, Butternut Ridge Rd. Canton, charged 11/27/15 Town of Clare, Place Salt on Lands Inhabited by Deer. 12/10/15 $25 fine, $75 surcharge, Judge Camp • James F. Barse, 40, St. Rt. 56 Raymondville, charged 8/21/13 Town of Norfolk, Unlawful Open Burn. 1/5/16, $50 $2.50, Judge Grubee • Connor J. Hoben, 20, Clyde Allen Dr., St. Albans, Vt. Charged 11/27/15, Town of Clare, Hunt Big Game over Pre-established Bait Pile. 11/27/15 $50 $2.50 Judge Camp • Edwin M. Baxter,65, Benson Mines Rd., Star Lake, charged 11/29/15, Town of Clifton Unlawful Body Gripping Set on Land. 12/23/15 $25 $75, Judge Friden • James C. Kingrey II, 24, Fordham Hill Rd., Hermon, charged 9/25/15 Town of Russell, Hunt Deer without Big Game License, Possess Loaded Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Take Deer with Aid of Artificial Light, Take Deer during Closed Season. 11/16/15 $350, $10 Judge Friot • Philip A. Kavanagh, 57, Hollingsworth, Lane Piercefield, charged 6/19/15 Town of Colton, Fail to Obey DEC Regulation. 10/27/15 $100, $75 Judge Robar.

  16. Or xbow guess the serious archers will have to decide for the lesser of 2 evils...O and btw I love archery season I love the quiet time in woods without the guns....but I love hunting with my old man more so if xbows dont get full inclusion I'm all for early muzzle Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

  17. Leave me out of it Steve863. I never said anything about the shooting other than I was waiting for factual evidence. I never blamed the Feds for shooting him. But I do find it interesting that some folks take pleasure in the death of a human being, who was provoked by government aggression, and say it makes their day. That has to be some kind of defect. I imagine it will make your day when the Fed eliminates the 2nd Amendment and starts shooting everyone who refuses to comply with complete confiscation. You're on the wrong side in my opinion. That goes for anyone who agrees with you too.

  20. Yeah Bubbs, the video proves this doesn't it?? Why didn't your eyewitnesses mention that he was reaching into his coat for something? How convenient to forget such things when they want to sucker you guys into believing them. Funny how you, VJP, Papist, Philo haven't said $#!+ since Curmudgeon posted that video this morning. Do you now still feel that the law was at fault for filling him up with holes? They knew these guys were armed, right? There was little doubt about that since these guys brandished guns from the get go. I absolutely love it that there is video proof to prove all you conspiracy theorists WRONG here!! If it had somehow proven you right you would have been all over the video like flies on you know what. Now there isn't a peep out of you. You guys would have stretched this crap out for years like you have with Waco and Ruby Ridge. Now it looks like the air has been taken out of your balloons doesn't it? Hahaha, boy this made my day today!!

  21. Amazing talent you have there. Seems to me that you could make quite a few dollar with that as a sideline. You could pretty-much ask whatever you wanted for work of that quality.

  22. It would be interesting if Bubba could dip into his Justice of the Peace experience and shed some light on how fines are arrived at. I have no idea, but it may even be completely arbitrary and maybe even without any guidelines. How about it Bubba? Anything to offer on what criteria sets the fine levels and why there would be such humongous disparity from one violator to the next or one township to another?

  23. Agree, so far so good on a mild winter. We really won't know how the critters rebound for a few years though. As above posts stated, hoping for a non wet spring for the turkeys.

  24. I'm not sure if you answered my question. All I see is a bunch of words in quotes and broken sentences. I'm not a highly educated man. But what you wrote makes absolutely no sense to me. Maybe it's some kind of code?

  25. Very surprised he didn't have some sort of an alarm or surveillance system...not as if they don't have the funds for such things. Too bad.

  26. Couldn't agree more! It has been great seeing turkey on the hill this winter...that just never happens. They have kept the woods turned up eating. As far as breeding it all depends on any late storms that could appear...Lets just hope there isn't much cold rain this spring.

  27. I don't see a need to start a new thread. We are recommending a certain gun for a niche, I was commenting on how the guns draw differently and what he single practice when consider buying a gun.

  28. So glad this years winter hasn't been so harsh got only a few inches on the ground, this time last year it was up past my windows lol, its great for the Turkeys to get to food source under the snow, i knows its not over probably another 6 to 8 weeks of winter hope its over soon but how do you think this will affect the Breeding Season i think it will be early.

  29. That is what makes it necessary that the opposition to phase three be included in the comments sent to the DEC. It may or may not do any good, but if you are opposed to any type of firearm being added into the bow season, here is another bite at the apple, and another chance to go on record as being against that growing mentality in the DEC ranks. Chances are pretty good that bowhunters did not do a very good job at registering their opposition to this phase of the deer management plan when that comment period was open before. Let's not make that same mistake again.

  30. I'd assume that a loaded handgun is less prone to accidentally discharge and cause damage or death. I would imagine the purpose of allowing a pistol permit holder to carry loaded in a vehicle is for protection. I can hardly see a situation where someone with a carry permit would opt to go for their long gun vs their handgun in an emergency situation for protection. 31. No exemption bc of age just put in archery season where it belongs....otherwise I'd take the early muzzle season bc only way my dad will get out while the weather is real nice he can't draw a compound and isn't "disabled" so no permit Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

  32. You actually believe that all things being equal, if the armed, militant cowboy who reached into his jacket when confronted by law officers was black, that there would be riots? Do you also believe that if video of the Michael Brown killing had been available immediately, that there would have been riots? That facts only matter to white people?

  33. I know you don't want something else to carry, but sometimes tools that are designed for 2 jobs sacrifice certain things. Your buck knife is a fine ass knife. I'd recommend a small folding saw. I have an ameristep that's light and plastic (so not super durable) but it easily fits in my fanny pack.

  35. Can you guys turn the crazy up some more, I enjoy it immensely. You know how you don't die? Don't speed at the road block at a high rate of speed, then you don't jump out of the truck and run, and finally never reach for anything while at gun point in a tense situation. The video ruins both first hand accounts in one swoop, bummer. I wonder if they will release the go pro video from the agent closest to him, I bet not.

  39. I can speak from experience if you are worried about the radishes in splitg2's mix don't, I have planted several different types of turnip mixes over the years from frigid forage, whitetail institute and others and Deerag were easily the biggest turnips with the greatest tonnage of greens on top of them. I have 10- 20 deer a night behind the house every night right now after the bulbs and they absolutely killed the tops during deer season. We planted two 2 acre plots on different properties this year and both were outstanding.

  40. It would be great to see the elderly and the disabled hunting again I have not been able to bow hunt for over 8 years now do to disability issues. I have a xbow and I shot two does last fall with it and it was a great to be out there again just would like a longer season.

  41. I will be 59 in four months, have two bad shoulders, and other health issues. But I think crossbow should be open, for all of archery season, for EVERYONE! Young, old or otherwise! Have it so you need the bow course, as it is more similar to bow than to a muzzle loader. At this point, there really is no reason, not to have full inclusion for the crossbow for 2016!

  42. If you don't mind a bigger gun and price is a big issue, look at the S&W SV9DE. It a full sized gun for under 400 bucks. They have a long hard trigger but they are very reliable. I had one for a while and put about 500 rounds through it with not a single hiccup. I ended up selling it to someone on the is site and as far as I know he has had good luck with it. It also comes in 40 S&W
