  1. done it lately ? So yesterday I stopped at Tim Hortons on the way to work with the little girl. A guy in front of us had 2 of the trays filled with 4 beverages each and 2 big bags of food. I said you need a hand ? He said no I got it. I'd bet the house some of those coffees never would have made it to his truck. I grabbed a tray and a bag and he did the same. Walked them out to his truck and he had parked the farthest he could (poor planning there ) He gave me $3.00 to pay it forward thru the drive thru my next trip thru. I did it this morning for a woman and her kid. Sometimes it the little things that make you feel good. Couple of months ago I told the Tim Hortons cashier I'd pay for the cops coffee behind me. Clerk said they get it for free. I tried. Maybe 5 years ago daughter and I driving and passed an obvious homeless man along a busy street holding a sign which read "need food" I drove a quarter mile or so and saw a Burger King. We bought a breakfast combo and turned around to give it to him. She was nervous getting out of the car but I made her hand it to him. Guy was pleased as punch and commented on her polite manners and that he liked her shoes. Wished him safe and happy travels and we continued our journey. Crap, even please and thank you's go a long way. Too many just don't do it anymore. I must be getting my period as I'm sensitive this morning

  3. ...and wants to learn how to hunt. It is a long story, but life experiences and ideals have led me here. I live in Lindenhurst, NY (Long Island) and would like to learn about hunting and fishing. I have absolutely no clue. I am hoping someone can take me under their wing and show me the ropes. Thank you all for having me. God bless.

  4. Went out after some coyotes last Monday morning first light on some big woods state land where I've been seeing a pile of tracks. Called using my fox pro for about 35-40 minutes when a beaut female came trotting in about 40 yards from my right and I blasted her. Good healthy dog biggest female ive shot yet. Froze my butt off only 3 degrees but was all worth in the end had an awesome hunt wish the season didn't end for us new yorkers. Hopefully get another dog or two before the season ends. 5. Found these today, wish I found them last year. Sitting about 2ft apart. I probably walked by within 10ft of them a dozen times in the last year.

  8. I'll always stick up for myself and my family. And I still don't take a lot of chit. But at this stage of my life, I would hope my fighting days are gone. For sure my BEST fighting days are long gone.

  9. If he had used a gun, it's just another boring picture of a dead bear and an exaggerated hunting story no one will ever believe to go along with it. I don't think that pic is authentic though..... there's no CRAP on the bears face from the photographer, lol

  13. Probably not too many people here remember putting up hay loose in the mow. I was that 5 year old kid that was up in the mow tramping in the hay. Yeah ...... The kid with hay fever coated with chaff stomping around in the air so full of dust that you could hardly see through it. Oh yeah, I worked for one of he neighbors bagging oats on the combine, choking and sneezing. We were a hard-core farming community with big houses and lots of family members in each house. Yeah everyone up and down the valley had those huge houses with several adult family members and even family units under the same roof. We had my grandparents living with us until they all passed. No, we wouldn't think of packing them off to a nursing home as long as we had a roof to offer. In some ways, that style of life was a lot better than today. We took care of our own.

  15. Unfortunalty to get a canidate that the few of us on this forum could agree on would be a major feat. Now try to get about a hundred million eligible voters to agree, IMPOSSIBLE.! At this point I would vote for Trump! Maybe he can rock the boat and something positive may happen

  27. thats what happens when you get mouthy...and put your hands on someone. A buddy of mine 6'3" about 280... was mouthing this little guy in a bar and the kid told him he was going to die that night...everyone laughed. He was walking to his car and that little kid ran up on him and literally gutted him and sliced a major artery coming off his heart. He was a decorated green beret and had a nice k-bar with him. My buddy lived but spent a lot of time in the hospital. you just never know. Look at the guys in the UFC, some of them are walking the street at 150 lbs and would kick the shit out of anyone we all know. The top military in this country is trained by professional fighters around the world. Its always the little guy who is quiet but not backing down you must watch out for... a big dopy meathead is just that and will get smack up 99% of the time.

  28. It is the little things that are important as TF said. My kids have noticed me hold doors for both men and women, especially when it is cold outside. I get a huge smile on my face when my kids let someone else go in front of them or better yet, hold the door for them. Usually a Thank you follows and then a You're Welcome from the kids. Great stuff you don't alwAys see from today's youth but is refreshing when you do.

  29. I was in line at Tim Horton's (drive thru) a couple years ago and I noticed the truck in front of me belonged to Mark Greco. He owns a local pizza joint and is a staffer for Knight & Hale Game Calls. I don't know him very well but we are certainly friendly. When I got to the speaker I told the gal I'd pay for whatever the guy in front of me ordered, DON'T TAKE HIS MONEY I said. He gets his money and pulls ahead, gets out of his truck and has this astonished look on his face. We had a good laugh about it and shot the breeze for a bit after I got my cup-o-joe.

  33. At least in my experience with ladder stands over the years, concealment isn't the main issue. Simply breaking up your profile and reducing your movements is more important. Some of my ladder stands that are s/u in more open woods areas, I wrap the below die cut camo cloth around the sides of the platform from arm rests down to the platform. This cloth is die cut so the wind doesn't blow on it like a sail and it tends to last maybe 4-5 years before it weathers and needs replacing. Have also tie wrapped branches around the platform and it seems to break-up the hunters outline somewhat. Of course this all depends on what type of stand sitter you are, constantly moving or figidity or playing with smartphone or sitting still with head movements only. BTW - does come in smaller qty. Should put up early or wash with scent-free soap to remove any mfg residuals or UV components. A requirement or product endorsement..by no means. I've shot numerous bucks from un-concealed ladder stands at 10-12yrds.

  43. "Rocket propulsion - Reaction propulsion wherein both the fuel and the oxidizer, generating the hot gases expended through a nozzle, are carried as part of the rocket engine. Specifically, rocket propulsion differs from jet propulsion in that jet propulsion utilizes atmospheric air as an oxidizer, whereas rocket propulsion utilizes nitric acid or a similar compound as an oxidizer. See also jet propulsion." So in other words, no. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
