Took a day off work to take my lake property neighbor fishing. I get exclusive rights to hunt his 75 acres and all I have to to is take him fishing! I always make sure to take him when the bite is on. We landed and released well over 30 largemouths! Nothing huge but a couple 4 plus pounders and many 3 plus! I was also happy to have him catch the biggest one! And threw in breakfast and lunch too. The very least I can do for shooting many deer on his land. He's a great guy and we always have fun on our fishing trip!12 points

Just for the fools who keep saying the NRA is against "common sense" gun laws and stopping terrorists from getting guns, here's their official position. It protects Rule of Law and responsible gun owners. Never forget, Obama armed terrorists with his Fast and Furious fiasco! Fairfax, Va.— The executive director of the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, released the following statement regarding terror watchlists: We are happy to meet with Donald Trump. The NRA's position on this issue has not changed. The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale, and arrest the terrorist. At the same time, due process protections should be put in place that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. That has been the position of Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and a majority of the U.S. Senate. Sadly, President Obama and his allies would prefer to play politics with this issue.7 points

Yes, I can see the logic in having some controls on weapons. I don't really want people to have grenade launchers at their disposal. I guess I am against personal suitcase nukes, and bazookas probably would not be a real good thing to have easily obtainable. Fully automatic weapons have been illegal without special permits for decades and probably rightfully so. So yes, the discussion has to take place about where that line needs to be drawn? Is it anything that can take a life that needs to be banned? Do we use criteria that involves perception or appearance as the place to draw the line? Tell me the functional difference between any currently legal semi-auto hunting/target rifle and an AR-15 that does not involve arbitrary perception or visual bias. So are we ready to make all semi auto weapons illegal? How about pump actions next? Lever actions? Where do you draw the line? Because the argument against AR style rifles while ignoring any semi-auto hunting rifle just doesn't make sense or certainly is not consistent. You can call these AR style rifles anything you want .... weapons of war, assault rifles, black rifles, but none of that makes them anymore of a weapon of murder than your dad's old semi-auto hunting rifle. Those are emotional descriptions that reflect how you feel about cosmetic design. Is that where we draw the line on constitutional issues, cosmetics and perceptions? Not in my mind.5 points

It wouldn't keep Americans safe. If Obama and Clinton could sprinkle some of their magic fairy dust on the Constitution and make firearms disappear, the terrorist carnage would elevate exponentially. We will quickly and rudely find out that Islamists worldwide have murdered 1,000 times more civilians with bombs, the binary components of which can be readily acquired. Pick up a copy of the Jerusalem Post and check out the blast effect of bombs, then pick up a history book and calculate the number of deaths that have resulted once socialists confiscated the people's best means of defending themselves.3 points

Therein lies the slippery slope, Doc. The entire issue is dependent on some definition of: assault weapon, common sense, greater good, personal liberty, constitutional authority, etc. Who exactly is to do the defining?3 points

Not a coyote fan as most but there "is" a season here in NYS. He/she ain't going to attack you Until season is open they get a free pass by me. This was one of the few turkey seasons I didn't call one in. I just sit there , grind teeth and hope I see them again when it's open. Off my soapbox And I carry 24/7. More for family than critters2 points

Well, at least he didn't break a nail. OMG! That would have been just too much! I had a funny comment about his name, Kuntzman, but..................... I posted this vid in another thread, it's a few years old but like I said in my thread, this young lady knows more about what people call 'assault rifles' then this flake, most politicians, the media, and all the anti's put together! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_-N9_tnWBo Apparently they don't bruise HER shoulder or scare HER!2 points

No we didn't catch a ton of fish. Been a slow start to the season. Only 2 salmon (1 King and 1 coho) both less than 10lbs. Got a late start too. But weather was perfect and I really enjoy the time with Dad. It's well worth playing hooky from work now and then. Figured out how to run 4 dipsy divers without tangles so that was good too.2 points

Split if you thought enough to call the sheriff...I would take what he says with a grain of salt and delve deeper into the Ag/property laws...The sheriffs really aren't trained extensively in such things...sometimes their knowledge is a matter of standing operating positions on their end, than fact...just saying...good luck with the new crops.1 point

The little that i know about bear meat is that it has to be cooked through to be safe. I would go with stews, braises, or slow cooker recipes.1 point

I have had a mulberry tree at almost every home I lived in. Recently planted one on my upstate property. Was hard to find one as they don't seem to be very common up there. A mulberry looks like a blackberry that grows on a tree. It also tastes much like a blackberry - the taste is simply not as strong. Lot's of uses. My family has always loved them. The trees tend to grow well and need little maintenance. Even a relatively small tree can yield quite a bit of fruit. They can end up being nice shade trees. The one downside is the "dye." The berries can stain skin, clothes - anything. Birds that eat the berries can leave purple droppings. Not an insurmountable problem, but one to be aware of.1 point

Even the official unofficial mouthpiece of the Republican party is finally seeing that weapons designed for military use have mo place in the hands of the public, Can Orlando be the straw that finally breaks the illogical back of the gun crazy right? Has the time finally arrived when even those who sit on the extreme right realize that such weapons should not be available for sale to the public? Hopefully this might lead to the beginning of the end that is the foolishness that is the NRA. P.S. Good job Bill in finally seeing the light.1 point

Just grilled up some cube steaks on the grill and had baked potatoes to go with. Was in Corning for a soccer game until 630. We won 5-2. Girls are 7-0 with one game left and have out scored opponents 31-4.1 point

Maybe they'd have to take the deer to the local State Farm drive up claims center. WTH, might as well get them involved, they're the ones pushing this eradication.1 point
