Showed back up again, this year with even more mass than before it seems, as well as some "junk".. i have history with this deer back to 2013, that I'm aware of. This fall he is 6.5yr or older. in 2013 he is at least a 3.5yr old.. Still have a few cards to pull. hopefully the other 2 old guys are on them..4 points

I've been watching several nice bucks all summer coming out of a marshy little wetland area at my best shed hunting farm. I finally bought a new Browning Trail Cam and set it up to get a closer look last week. It took 6 days...but the boys finally showed yesterday evening. There were no trees to mount the camera on where I wanted to put it so it's set up on a threaded stake right in the cloverfield where they've been coming out. It's pretty funny to see their reaction when they notice the plastic box hovering in the air and come closer to check it out. This one in particular peaks my interest. Love those big brows!!! He's not a high scorer by any means but he has a huge body and I believe that he's at least 5 years old based on the fact that he resided in the same area last year too. He sure looks like a fully mature buck with that big old roman nose... Shooter #2, he's definately got some good mass and lots of character!!! Couple of nice young bucks...2 points

Perhaps 'wise' in the collectivist mindset. The anti-globalist individualists among us consider those words extremely foolish.2 points

They have always overlooked Obama's crimes. Upright: "There is a statute that prohibits us from engaging in Iran dealing with dollars, so [Obama] had to print the money here, ship it over to Switzerland, turn it into Swiss francs and euros, and ship it over to Iran. If a private company had done this, it is called money laundering. The CEO would be in jail right now." —Charles Krauthammer2 points

I'm sure the drought this year has something to do with it. My folks have a bunch of of hummer-feeders that are regularly being raided by various birds, squirrels, and even deer! My Mom's b-day is next weekend, and I bought her a nice bird bath for their yard.1 point

With the help of my awesome young little family, our Double Beam Brassica plots are in, They are calling for a decent chance of rain tonight, so last night, the youngsters and I ( my daughter Alivia age 2, Cole age 10, and his friend Charlie 10) went up and put the seeds in the dirt. I love having and letting them help with everything I do, especially in and around camp. Awesome times, and cherished memories for sure, they sure make me a happy dad! My step son Cole, even saved a few seeds himself, separated them within the blend, and planted them at home in a box, individually to see which seed grew which plant, and how well they grow.. He impressed me with that one!1 point

You have to pay for your dmp tags unless you bought your lifetime licence before 2009. There is an actual date i read it in the syllabus. I was doing the math the other day for my lifetime and I think I am down to 100 dollars a year for my licence!! Not terrible best part is it keeps getting cheaper every year!1 point

when I first starting tracking and my dog was new, I was obsessed with using him on every track regardless of it was good or bad, I live on Long Island but would take him on my trips upstate with me as well, although he stayed back at the cabin while I hunted, and honestly my thoughts were always, "I hope I shoot something so I can go get the dog to find it".....my own hunting took a pretty big hit the first two years I was tracking because it does become an obsession....I didn't think the original poster was really looking to bring the dog as a crutch, but maybe because he's a little excited about using the dog and looking to see how the dog works, I really don't know, but that is a possibility......but in my opinion, using that dog as much as possible should be a priority if you want it to be as good as it can be, using it once in a while when only absolutely necessary isn't really the best way to go about it....so if you have a tracking dog and you're really serious about the dog and tracking, it really has nothing to do with you're own abilities as a hunter or your shooting abilities, it's about training the dog.....although if you're a crappy tracker yourself that certainly doesn't help either.1 point

Thanks for looking that up...now that I'm on the computer I'm thinking it was something more in the line of this stuff...there are many variations out there and it's cheaper than Bentonite.... https://www.polymerinnovations.com.au/solutions/dam-pond-sealants/1 point

The modern harvesters/combines don't leave much in the field as far as corn and soybeans. Using computer-controlled planting and harvesting and GPS/SatNav technology there's usually more left on the ground around the haulers being filled than there is in the fields. OTOH, if you know where the haulers are stopping on their routes through the fields during harvest, that's probably where the deer will be. Water is a huge issue this year as well. A lot of ponds, small streams, drainage ditches, and swamps are absolutely bone dry. Finding a spring-fed water source is going to be critical this season. JMHO1 point

Big difference between crops you own/control and those you don't. If I had one plant to plant foodplots with, it'd be beans. Deer will feast on them all summer and then if that field is left to pod out - every deer you want to shoot will be in that field until the last pod is located late season. A standing bean field in December is a sight to see in the afternoons. Agree that if not controlling the harvest, it's a completely different world.1 point

Will.score.maybe 130 out of velvet, beams are long and has good width. Mass seems to drop off ( 1/2 in or a bit more of the mass your looking at is velvet) brows and points are short. That being said it's still a big buck I wouldn't put it in monster class myself. Hope you get a crack at him this year. The one on the right I would consider a monster.
