It’s that time boys and girls. Let’s see what you’ll be killing turkeys with this year.
 
Here’s mine top to bottom.
 
My daughters Mossberg 510 super bantam this had a vortex venom on a sumtoy mount on it but I lost the dot last week patterning so it’s got a bushnell fast strike 2 on it for the season. The choke is a 570 jebs headhunter. It will be shooting fed heavy weight 7’s.
 
 
Middle is a mossberg SA-20 with a leupold deltapoint on a sumtoy mount. Choke is a carlson .575. It will be shooting 3” copper plated 6’s in the federal premium wing shot load.
 
 
Bottom is old faithful, my 870 youth. It has a trijicon RMR dual illumination on a meadow creek rib mount. Choke is a Carlson .587 cremator choke. Shooting Remington express XLR 2 3/4” 7.5 shot.

What mount did you use for the Rib Mount on the 870 Youth?  How is the line of sight compared to the scopes mounted over the receiver?

I just picked up a 835 for this season. Glad to hear another positive review. I put a red dot on it that i really feel comfortable shooting with it.  I'm using a long beard XR tube in mine ,3 inch long beard #4 . It patterns really well.

What mount did you use for the Rib Mount on the 870 Youth?  How is the line of sight compared to the scopes mounted over the receiver?

It puts the dot 5/8” above rail. With a rail mount it’s hard to get a dot under 1 1/4”

How’s the trigger on your new 20ga bill? My daughters 510 was awful probably close to 12lbs. I changed the springs and it’s much better. The safety was also way too hard for her to push to fire so I put an aftermarket safety and cut half of a coil off the spring and it’s much better now but still safe.

I'm changing it up this year. I'm going to try throwing the empty casings from patterning at that tom. I figure with my new toilet seat turkey chair, and the snare drum I picked up from the curb, I can't lose.

Fun topic but I don't do pictures...Hehehe...

Rem 11-87  SP  12 gauge  with  21" BBL,  Kick's Gobblin Thunder .665 choke tube and a Leupold VX II  1x4  scope....

I shoot Federal Premium 3", 2 oz. copper plated #6 shot or Win  XX  with the same load..

Some days when I feel nostalgic I carry my 1980 vintage Rem 1100 with a fixed  26" full choke vent rib bbl, double beads and the same loads..

I’ve shot them with all kinds of guns but last year put together a dedicated turkey gun. It’s a 1187 special purpose 12 gauge I have ceracoted, add a code black choke and fiber optic sights. It patterns #6 long beards , I shot one turkey with it last spring and was really happy with it.

This Remington 870 is probably the best choice I have in my arsenal for Turkeys, purchased it mainly for waterfowl and the required steel shot. I put on some adjustable sights to better center patterns. It does the job good enough for me as it has taken both Geese and Turkeys.

Not at all surprised to see so many 835’s.

Somewhat surprised to see so many still using a bead.

No 10ga. I can remember when they were somewhat popular. Neither of mine have been touched in years and probably never will again.

Years ago I was contemplating buying a Remington SP Mag 10. Now  I wish I did , although they don’t make them anymore. Ive seen them on Gunbroker selling for big bucks. I think Ithaca still makes an auto 10- gauge.

Wife's shooting a 20g. Youth 870 with a Carlson full choke, vent rib and bead, it's her gun for everything, and its nice and light to carry.

 my 835, I removed the junk true glow and just shooting the half beads. Shooting 60yds or less generally, I may try optics but right now it does it well. Shoot 1 or 2 rounds each spring just to check. Also use this gun for late waterfoul seasons. Really dependable.

Old faithful on both  12g NEF single barrel  with fixed modified barrel and the good ole mossberg 835 with mossberg turkey choke. Both have killed their fair share of waterfowl and turkey.

Isn’t the 320 drilled and tapped on the receiver? A pic mount down on the rail would be awkwardly high in my opinion.

No, the 320 I have isn't tapped for a scope on the receiver.
